Fallout 4 & Mods assistance.

Before anyone rolls their eyes. All my mods work, I have no issues or conflicts or anything of that nature(Cept Servitron F'ing up this playthrough's Robot benches. But that's fine.)

 

I need assistance in downsizing my mod list some(Do to amazing stuff that's out & is still otw) I am sitting at like 246 Plugins.

 

Starting with this 4. Do I need all for? Are they basically overlapping & being redundant? I still can't seem to get vanilla companions to swap between melee/ranged(even though I give them both). Though my slaves(Just Business from LL) Can figure that out....

Hiya JJ. Ok this is actually a good place to start. Since you've got a couple here that are either redunant, or probably conflicting.

 

a) Get RID of #3 ! Companion Infinite Ammo. A) Because it does the same thing as 1 & 2. B) That mod can break the script that sends companions home. In rare cases, when using that mod, it breaks the script that when you tell a companion to go to such and such settlement, they go to leave, and then end up following you around, with no way to control them, or make them do anything else. And sadly, that script bakes into all of your save games. So you are either STUCK with them permanently, or having to start an all new character, with that mod turned off.

b) #4. That one most likely re-writes some of the data in the character's data files. So if you decide to use a mod that say.... changes the way Paladin Danse looks, via an esp file, those two will most likely conflict. And while I haven't actually played that mod, it looks like it does a lot of the same things that you're first two do.

That is also most likely in conflict with the mods that you have, that are supposed to make them change weapons in combat, and they're canceling each other out.

 

The reason that you're having the problem you mentioned, is because these affects the files that either are, or are used by, specifically the companions. Settlers aren't being affected because they use a different set of files. ;)
