juh3kjl
I tried to come back to SSE and NMM is out of date, api deprecated bla bla bla you all know this part.So first I tried to use the community-maintained newer NMM, but that basically broke immediately so screw it, let's try vortex.Trying to import my modlist from an uninstalled but 'leave config files' NMM fails because Vortex thinks NMM is actively managing my mods. Is there a workaround for this? I don't even remember where my NMM install was. I had it in a specific location a few installs ago but apparently went with default in the interim. Is there some way to tell Vortex it's actually my one true love no matter what NMM ('s old config file) claims? HadToRegister
Remove the NMM config filesDid you uninstall your mods BEFORE you uninstalled NMM?The Config file for NMM is the virtual install.xml in the Virtual Install folder
juh3kjl
Remove the NMM config files Did you uninstall your mods BEFORE you uninstalled NMM? The Config file for NMM is the virtual install.xml in the Virtual Install folderI can't find it, and reinstalling the community version of NMM using default location isn't helping because it's still crashing with that missing dll error. I suspect this entire install of SSE is now boned unless I want to manually manage all these mods, which, no, I really don't. I'm searching all my drives for "*install.xml", we'll see if I can find it that way. Thanks for that idea. edit - no, I didn't know I had to do that, and NMM became unusable because of the missing dll crash so I can't idisable control/management via nmm to do that. edit 2 - can't find any nexus-related *install.xml file. I can just use npp++ to do a find/replace

I guess I can just install them? I'm gonna mark this as solved, I'm tired of fighting with it. The greatest thing about TES is the mods, and the worst thing about TES is... the mods, and how much of a goddamn nightmare they always turn out to be.
