JFSOCC
what point is there in character looks customization if you cannot look at yourself once in a while? I suggest a mirror elsewhere, but really, I do not want to have to go to console for free roam camera, simply to see how the new armour I wear looks like from the front. mikekearn
If you press and hold the button that toggles first and third person views, you can then scroll around with the mouse and see yourself from the front.
JFSOCC
ty I didn't know that, nor could I find it anywhere.
mikekearn
That's something that was in Oblivion, too, which is how I knew of it. I don't remember hearing about it actually being in Fallout 3, but since I had already known it was possible, I might have just not payed attention. Uzibeatle
On my PC I discovered the mouse middle button allows for free rotation. The only downside is it snaps backwhen released. If I could figure out how to get 'mouselook' to work without the snap back on release I'd be happier.
furtim
Yeah, this is probably the biggest interface gripe I have with the game right now. It sucks having to hold a button down to check out my character's sweet new armour or whatever. (My second-biggest gripe being the "over the shoulder" view... I mean, I guess it's necessary to allow aiming the weapons without VATS or switching to first-person, but I still don't like it much.)
BooneoftheWasteland
Is it possible to pan high from above and look down on your character? Or take in the scenery from above? I see screen shots and wonder if people are doing that ingame?
TGBlank
Most weird camera screenshot work is done thanks to console's tfc. Thanks for the info on the holding button thingy tho, saves me from a lot of tfc'ing every time i want to see my char's face. About the over the shoulder... or rather, next to the shoulder, there's this mod somewhere here that truly moves it to over the shoulder. It is far more usable for non-vanity purposes with it (think mass effect's camera).
BooneoftheWasteland
I haven't bought the pc version yet. What is tfc? Thanx.
TGBlank
a console command. Lets you move the camera around as you damn well please (tho you cant move your character while at it).
