frankdema
hi guys this is my next project, i want to give a nordic based light armor to all the people that like to represent the stormcloack but don't like very much the uniform of the stormcloack and want something more detailed and accurate here is an image of what i've done so far:http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/4635/stormcloak2.jpg 3D render of what i've done so far the armor will probably be a medium armor, with the stats and the weight slightly higher than a light armor. but it will affect the light armor perk tree. i program to remake the textures of the upper fur to make it more refined and high quality... the base mesh is practically done....the only thing is that i need to detail it with some accessories and i was wondering....what would you like to see on it? you know, when it comes to mash up armors a lot of people don't like this and that so i started this thread to see what people may and may not like on an armor.i have basic modelling/texturing knwoledge so i can model some other accessory if you have something in mind that can not be found in the vanilla resource meshes. also with the mod (the armor will have a background story and MAYBE if someone wants to collaborate, a little quest to obtain it) i will release a custom saddle :) because an explorer rides a lot...this is a very basic concept of the saddle...note that is is a concept so it will be way more detailed and better looking when i'll start to work on it, but first i will finish the armor.http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/images/3805873-1350423637.jpg please be nice because my english is not so good :) and i hope you like this project
AnkhAscendant
Well, my idea might be stupid, because I'm not really familiar with Nordic cultures, but I know that when my parents did Viking garb for fairs there were always drinking horns, and I haven't seen one this entire game. Apparently all our Nords drinking out of nice refined glass bottles, but that's not very practical for an explorer, so why not sling a drinking horn on his hip? frankdema
http://imageshack.us/a/img547/5700/immaginesb.jpg a first version of the drinking horn i will attach on the armor....not as i imagined it, i probably will remake this again with a new uv map to detail it better..... if you want to see it in 3D3d render of the horn with textures Edited October 20, 2012 by frankdema
ghosu
Looks nice, maybe a belt like this would fit: http://666kb.com/i/c8923lrp5olgwv3ss.png greetings
Kraeten
This is coming along really well, great work frankdema! Here's my feedback for what it's worth. The tan belt will look fine, if you give it a darker texture...otherwise I agree with ghosu. Also might I suggest you use the standard steel plate pauldron instead of the darker one already being used on the left shoulder? Seeing as you're already using steel colored metals for the gorget and the right arm it just looks a little off IMO to have an iron colored pauldron. And that's all I got really. Thanks for sharing your latest project with us! :)
samv96UK
As always, Fantastic work on the armour! Despite it being kind of rugged looking, it kind of reminds me of something that might be worn in the American revolution (I have no idea why), but it still looks like it fits in with Skyrim. That horse looks pretty neat too! I would be happy to make a quest along with a location or two with the armour once you've finished making it  Oh, and as for what I would like to see on the armour, maybe some kind of war trophies? Things that wouldn't be significant to anyone else but have a meaning to the armour. Perhaps a medallion/necklace, or maybe a broken dagger/hilt of a sword would look cool hanging from the belt? frankdema
@ghosu thank you very much for the feedback and the concept :) it is always cool to have a picture of a suggestion so i can have in mind what to model or search....thank you very much really, i will try to add it.ps. great work on the hunting knife, i always wanted to comment on the wip thread but i always have forgotten :D @kraeten thank you very much man :) the asimmetry, both in colors and type of materials was intentional actually.... because i wanted to create a story of a previous owner of the set that took pieces of armours from the corpses of the defeated enemies to make his own :Dso i would like to maitain that pauldron, but if you think that it is totally out of place it does not cost me anything to remove it and use another one :) and you don't have to thank me, it is always a pleasure for me to share my works with the community :) @samv96uk wow that is a great news :) i'll let you know what i want to do with it :) for now i want to finish both the armor and the horse saddle and than i will think about the esp; and thank you very much for the idea :) it fits very well with what i had in mind for the story of the armor :)ps thank you very much for the kind words :) you know i'm waiting for your mod ;D so good luck man and keep an eye on the thread.....news coming in today and in the next days.... patobek
Have you tried to use the shoulder shield from Dawnguard Heavy Armor, it fits the rest of the plate parts, or you should retex this one to grey :) Just my opinion, overall great set my friend :)
frankdema
small updatehttp://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/images/3805873-1350759888.jpg -first of all my firend samv96uk is collaborating with me to this project to make a nice quest to obtain the armor....and it will be pretty great knowing him :D-i added some accessories to the armor, and i'm starting to detail it more and more @pato i wish i could do that and to be honest i thought about it, but at that point it will not be avaible to everyone but only to the people that have dawnguard installed
