Old files overwriting new ones - causing crashes

Where does Nexus keep their mods? Because I have an old version of SkyUI floating around causing problems and I cant figure out how to delete it because it was detached from Nexus.

Even where to search would be great, I have the file names, I just need to get rid of them.

Edit:

I have the first Skyrim, I installed both mods with Vortex.

I had Skyrim installed on my computer with mods. I had to reset my computer. OneDrive kept all my files, and I didn't know this until I reinstalled everything. The old version of Sky_UI didn't work so I installed a new version. The old version is overwriting the new version, making it so that neither of them work.

What you are asking appears to be unrelated to Vortex, but we may be able to help if you give us more information.

What game are you referring to - Skyrim or Skyrim SE?

Did you install SkyUI with a mod manager of manually?

I actually have no idea what you mean by "detatched from Nexus"...

SkyUI consists of a SkyUI.bsa and a SkyUI.esp. Both of them live in your game's Data directory.

If you find them there, delete them. Of course, there is the old caveat of don't remove mods from a running game.

I can't find either file in my computer or OneDrive, the error says

"This report informs you about potential problems with your SkyUI installation.

Fix these problems , then press 'Refresh' to confirm that they're gone.
After all problems have been resolved, you can continue with the installation.

-----------
Problem #1:
-----------
There are files in your 'Data/' folder, which override newer versions from the SkyUI.bsa archive.

These files are:
Data/Scripts/SKI_ConfigManager.pex
Data/Scripts/SKI_PlayerLoadGameAlias.pex
Data/Scripts/SKI_QuestBase.pex

Potential causes:
* An old SkyUI version was not uninstalled before installing the new one.

Solution:
1. If you have an old SkyUI version installed in NMM, uninstall it, then try again.
2. If there are still problematic files reported, delete them manually."

But I can't find the old files.

How did you install SkyUI?

For WHICH SKyrim?

Skyrim LE or SKyrim SE?

Did you use a mod manager?

If so, use the mod manager to uninstall it.

The folder you're looking for is

Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim or Skyrime Special Edition\Data\scripts\

I used Vortex to install it, I edited the post to show the story, but I will paste it here.

I don't have any mods on Steam because they began conflicting with Nexus mods.

You need to turn off Onedrive from backing up your Mod files, Onedrive keeps restoring the old files.

Okay, but that won't destroy the files that OneDrive has already re-downloaded onto my computer.

Once you turn off OneDrive from backing up and restoring your mod files, you then need to UNINSTALL SkyUI and install the NEW one.

Vortex is not recognizing it, so I can't find it. I can't find the folder you're talking about.
