TheElderInfinity
After realizing that I had no idea what half the mods in my load list did, I decided today that I was going to reinstall Skyrim fresh. No save files, and initially no mods. Yet when I started a new game to test if it was working, the game immediately closed. It didn't even open up the usual steam blurb about new game deals (and yes, before you ask this is a legitimate copy of the game. I haven't got a clue what's causing this, though the game just suddenly started updating after I validated the game's files with steam, so maybe it's behind on updates or something, which I hope is the case. Of course, I'd like to be prepared for if it's not, so does anyone have a suggestion as to how I should go about solving this problem if the update steam is downloading doesn't fix it? Elsarian
Go to Documents/ My games/ and delete the folder named skyrim. That's the folder that houses your old rendering documents as well as both .ini's. After deleting this folder, run the Steam launcher for skyrim so that the game will regenerate that folder and all documents will be fresh. If this doesn't work, then perhaps there is more we can do. Get back to me on this and we'll see what happens.
TheElderInfinity
I already did that after reinstalling, but it didn't work. Of course, the update installed and it started working, so I assume whatever was wrong was fixed. Thanks anyway.
