09907654
The title says it all, I've searched all over the internet but no answersRadius increases both the explosion and the effect as it seems.Force seems to do nothing as I've tested. Is there a solution? Mktavish
It is probably because the "No Area" flag is checked on the base effect. So un checking that , then adjusting the radius on the object effect , should give you what you want ?What is the effect anyways ? KiCHo666
You need to scale down the effect itself (the .nif file).
Mktavish
You need to scale down the effect itself (the .nif file). Huh ? But why would the effect scale up then , when increasing the explosion radius. Ahh wait ... are we talking about a visual effect ? "Image space modifier" I was imagining , for example. They had an explosion that spreads green goo in a circle equivalent to the blast circle. And being set to "Touch" on the base effect. it then puts the green goo on everything it touches. So getting rid of the "Touch flag" (sorry forgot to mention that earlier) Then turning off the "No Area" would then let you adjust the green goo radius, independent of the blast radius on the object effect (enchantment) that is attached to the explosion object. But I digress ... I guess we better wait for input from the OP .
KiCHo666
If you increase the radius of explosion, then the visual effect itself increases in size. By that I mean, particles, textures, meshes, animation, etc...But yeah, I don't know if OP means visual effect (particles, animations...) or "Enchantment" or Image space modifiers. 09907654
I meant only the explosion radius. I don't want the animation to be bigger than it is. I just want the radius of damage. I also thought of a possibility to scale down the animation and then update the range, but I don't have enough skill in 3D programs to do that. 09907654
Also I'm really sorry for the late reply, I've been busy so I couldn't check the responses
Mktavish
Ahh , so KiCHo666 was correct in their assumption. And scaling the damage radius then scales all the visual effects. So the obvious solution is to then remake the mesh smaller. However ... myself who doesn't work with 3D programs either. Would attempt a geck work around in 2 ways. 1- you use the "Placed Impact Object" to place a second explosion that has the increased damage radius. And use this mesh for it "meshes\effects\fxnullexplosionart.nif"Then turn off the damage in the original and possibly the force also. or 2- you use an enchantment with a damage health base effect , and set it to an area radius instead of touch. Also turning off the damage of the explosion , but would still need the force.
09907654
Right, I'll try the first solution out and I'll let you know if it works (no reason it shouldn't).
09907654
Alright so how do I set up the art file? I can't find the nif files under effect, and copy and pasting what you said isn't working either. I'm sorry if this is a nooby issue, but I just started using the GECK so please forgive me.
