Import preset

Hi everyone,

I would like to import my character's preset, to share it with the nexus community. I already save it with looksmenu, I think I just have to find it in my fallout 4 folders, but if i want it to work for other people, do they have to get exactly the same mods i have ?

I don't want to share a broken file, or anything like that, i'm not really good with these kind of operation.

they will only need the mods used to create the face. so hair and scar mods, skin mods as well otherwise they will just get the vanilla ones

Hiya Joce! First off, please let me say these two things. First, thanks for wanting to share with the community. That is fantastic, and that's why this site has become as huge as it is, because of people like you :)

Second, thank you also for caring about what you share. As you said, you don't want to give broken mods. That is also very great of you! :)

 

Considering that LooksMenu presets are extremely easy to make, as well as to share, a good practice, is to make a version that most people consider their "main" version. That's the one that they've spent the most time on, making it.

Then, afterwards, they go through and strip as much of the "custom" stuff out of it, and also distribute that, as a "vanilla" version.

Ok, so i just need to make the list of the mods used for my character, thank you DoctorKaizeld.

Hey StormWolf01, you're welcome, I think it's the minimum to do ahah ! As a non english speaker however, I don't really get what you mean about making a "main" version. I'm just able to save a preset and share it, with the mod list, I absolutly don't know how to make/work on mod or anything like that unfortunately..

I am sorry, I did not know you do not speak English.

I make him very fast to show you. So he is not pretty. Both pictures are same man, both I make at start of game, in game.

 

This picture is "main" file. He has mod hair, and mod eyes. I save that as one preset. I name him "my man" or any thing. He has mods. He is the one I work on most, and the one that I like the most. If I want to share him.

This is same man. Same face. But I take away mod hair and mod eyes, and use regular game hair and eyes.

I save him as "My Man 2" for people to use, who do not have my mod hair or my mod eyes. Share both files. One file for people who have mods. Another file for people who do not have mods.

 

I hope that is good to translate what I mean. :smile:

Ah ok i get it, i do speak english, i can hold a conversation, but just non fluent ;)

In my case my character is on the mod young explorer's basis. From there, i worked it a lot ingame, in diamond city. I have a few mods to make hd faces textures, better eyes, hairstyles ect.. So i think the more important, is just to say which mods I have precisly, some as requirement, some as bonus, and just share the file of my saved preset ?

HAHA I apologize then, for the words of my before posts, I was trying to make it easy for google to translate.

 

I see. Ok, yes, just making sure that people know which mods you have used, and which ones might be a requirement, is good.

That is great, that another person's mod inspired you to do this. If it were me, I would make sure to add Thanks to the other person. I would also put a link to their mod, so that people might look at their mod, and see if they want to use it too.

 

I watch the new mods for fallout 4 several times a day. I look forward to seeing what your guy looks like!
