Falcorosso
Hi all, I apologize for my English, I know it is not perfect. My problem is this: I wanted to use some of the Mod in Skyrim, I have downloaded, installed and configured (according to the guide) the following program from the Nexus website: 7 - Zip (64-bit) I also already downloaded the following Mod (always from the Nexus website) as required by the Mod that interesting to me: - Better Females by Bella ver. 3- ApachiiSkyHair ver. 1.4 Full For these, I read your guide, and I selected "add to archive" as suggested. But I did not understand in which folder or directory of Skyrim, I should extract them and how to do it! Help me, please .... and thank you. Mujuro
If you use a mod manager, just use that to install automatically where it should go. Popular mod managers include NMM (just download from the many links all over the Nexus sites) and Wrye Bash. If you're doing manual install, the mods should conform with your Skyrim install directory (where tesv.exe is) such that your mods go in Skyrim\Data. So you need to open up the 7z archives for the mods and see how they are packed inside. E.g., do they have the Data folder and the subfolders inside? Or do they only have the subfolders (e.g., esm/esp and Meshes, textures folders, etc.). To extract, select 7z's extract to location to be [your Skyrim install path]\Skyrim\Data. Falcorosso
Thanks for the reply, I have made progress, Apachii Skyhair is ok now, and it works. 1) I still have trouble with "Bella's Better Female Face", I extracted the files with 7 Zip, I found the DATA folder, I opened it, there was in the folder "Textures". This folder (and all its sub folders, 8 folders: Bretonfemale, Darkelffemale, Character assets.... etc, etc. ) i have copied in the DATA folder of Skyrim. (steamapps\common\skyrim\data). Now, the Textures of "Apachii" and the Textures of "Better Female" are together in the same folder called Textures (steamapps\common\skyrim\data\textures).But when I go to launch the game, it crashes ... I do not understand why? Please help. 2) Can anyone give me a link to download the Mod Manager, please? Mujuro
It sounds like your 2nd mod has an installer (read the instructions that come with the mods on how to install). You should probably also read up on the basics of using mods, load order, etc., as it seems like this is your first time using mods. Falcorosso
Edit: I have successfully installed Nexus Mod Manager, I subscribed on the official website (steamworkshop) the mods that interest me, I downloaded and installed correctly Mod "Apachii and Better Female Face" from the Nexus website (using the NMM) and now they are activated. But when I launch the game, it goes even crash! If I download and install Wyre Bash, he fixes the problem, or not I need it?TNX Again, and sorry. Mujuro
NMM is for Nexus sites AFAIK. If you're using Steam Workshop for your mods, they should download automatically, and you just activate them via the Launcher. Please read the basics of using mods link I posted to you and make sure you've got the appropriate versions of everything and have your load order correctly done. Georgiegril
It sounds to me like you need to download and run BOSS to properly sort your mods. It will handle both NMM and Steam, but as far as I know, steam will revert them to it's default (Alphabetical order, not very useful).BOSS is a regular program, not a mod. Roccondil
Definitely use BOSS to order your mods... I didn't, at first, and after installing a small amount of mods, I started having problems with my game... if I didn't crash when loading, the game would crash or hang whenever I would enter a new cell or loading screen. I think that those problems even made my save corrupted, so eventually I couldn't play it anymore.Anyways, BOSS will place most popular mods in the correct place, eliminating (or seriously reducing) conflicts between them @Georgiegril: The Steam loader mod manager/data menu, for me, does not revert them to alphabetical order... only the ones which are deactivated (which are placed at the bottom of the list), and then those are not saved there, unless maybe I move an esp myself. But I use NMM or BOSS for all mod managing, even for Steam-downloaded mods.
slainia
This may not help much, but try running the game with one mod at a time. First, deactivate all of them and relaunch the game. After that, if you successfully manage to launch it and start a character without any crashes or other problems, create a save after the tutorial if you want then quit again. Enable one mod and relaunch the game, then load the character you just made and see if there are any troubles. Repeat this process (depending on how many mods you have, if only 2 it'll be fairly quick.) until you figure out if something went wrong with one of the mods themselves. As someone else said, it's also a good idea to read up on the mod guides, they have a lot of advice you'll find useful.
thompsonar
Just to throw something out there... I think your problem may be related to when you were trying to install the mods by hand. Did you undo (delete) everything you moved around manually before you installed the mods with the mod manager? Pretty sure you jumped in over your head with manual installation and that's what has buggered your game up. I only ask since you said your game was crashing before you even installed NMM.
