Myself, I try not to judge a people as a whole by the words and actions of a few. Whenever I am tempted to do so, I remember the wise words of Cid in Final Fantasy X after Wakka apologises to him for misjudging the Al Bhed... which can just as easily apply to Tamriel as well as Spira. "There's a lot of people in this world. Some of them good, some of them bad. That's all there is to it." Truer words have been rarely been spoken whether in fantasy or reality. Edited by CaptainRC

I find the Nords as a whole to be a bunch of "hammers heads" - people who deal with all problems in their lives by beating their heads on it. As far as racist scum, well it's not a post Enlightenment society so xenophobia is to be expected (keep in mind post-racism is only a product of the mid 20th Century and a reaction to the horrors of WWII). If anything since there are humaniods like lizard and cat people and the whole Uncanny Vally thing that would create I think Skyrim plays racism down

As for poisonous trash that walk on two legs who must die, that's the Aldmeri. Sissy Nazis is how they come across to me.

And speaking of Nord jerks, what's Ulfric's problem? He screams about FREEDOM! like he thinks he's a Nord William Wallace yet he never makes the case for Imperial injustice (the Nord's have been part of the empire for centuries and now they decided this is injustice?). There is seems to be no motivation to Ulfric beyond he wants violence for violence sake. No explanation why he murdered the old High King, no case why he should be High King and not some other Jarl. I got the feeling someone is using him.

The Thalmor set him on his course.

Ulfric's just init for power for Ulfric. He killed the old high king so he could be the new high king, and pretty much that's it. I get the feeling from him that his whole Nord Independence movements and Talos worship righteousness are just excuses. The Nords existed for 20 years after the White Gold Concordant without rising up in righteous anger, just with their own private little shrines to Talos, until Ulfric started stirring up trouble and making a big deal of things. The Thalmor wouldn't be running around inquisiting people if he weren't making trouble.

Personally, I don't hate Nords. I just hate some of the Nords who give Nords a bad name. Like how some nords insult the dunmer in Windhelm.

I remember Brunwulf said something like "Don't let these Skyrim for the nords people fool you, most of us are happy to accept anyone in Skyrim" (it is not accurate, but at least that was the point). That means, not all nords are like that (think other human as lesser race, skyrims only for the nords, etc), it also proves that human are too complex to be generalized.

I don't play as Nords, usually I play as Breton. It's just because if I play as a Nord, I tend to think that all of the dragonborns are Nords.

By the way, am I the only one who can't tell the difference between Nords, Breton, and Imperial? I thought Delphine was a Nord, but it turned out she's a Breton. Then I thought Mercurio (the hireling from Riften) was a Breton, but it turned out he's an Imperial. Both Nords, Bretons, and Imperials look the same to me.

You're definitely not the only one. I tend to assume anyone who's tall and blond is a Nord and anyone who's kind of basically all one color (hair and skin all of similar shades) is an Imperial, but that's a pretty poor guideline. There are even some light-skinned Redguards who can get mixed in there. Humans all look the same to me :P

That make sense. His sissy fit after meeting the Thamor ambassadress at the peace meeting was over the top, It's really hard to read NPCs in games since you can't tell if this is a plot point or just the Game Devolpers suck. Since like 75% of the Skyrim NPCs think like twelve year olds (like Delphine "I pout behind the scenes" of The Blades) I am included to assume the later. lol

Tis the beauty of the 'Race Height Adjustor' Mod.....really helps in telling the difference.... ....Bretons are absolutely titchy compared to Nords....Imperials not much taller than Bretons really, but still noticeable enough.
