Vortex: "Missing Staging File"

So as you said before I made a file in my E drive called Game, then in that Vortex, inside the Vortex file are Mods and Downloads. I then went to the Vortex Program and set the path (E:\Game\Vortex\Mods). Vortex then made the skyrimse file in Mods. That is when I hit apply and it say that the "folder destination needs to be empty" this is in reference to the Mods file. Then I went to the Downloads tab on the Vortex Program and set the path (E:\Game\Vortex\Downloads), then I got the "Missing Staging Folder" error.

 

 

Do you have any MODS or FILES in the Mod Staging FOLDER, when you're trying to move it?

 

There are no mods in the Mods folder, the only thing in there is skyrimse which was put there by Vortex. I have yet to even download a mod.

 

 

 

Then perhaps Vortex is complaining that the Download Folder is in the same Folder you're trying to put the Mod Staging folder in

 

So I tried resetting the path were the Downloads folder was from the Vortex folder to the Game folder and got "Missing Staging Folder." Then I made an all new folder called Vortex Downloads in the E drive and attempted to move the path to that folder only to get the same response.

 

Do the downloads have to be on the E drive with the Mods folder or can I move the downloads folder to my C drive and leave the mods folder in the E drive?

The only folder that needs to be on the same drive as the game, is the Mod Staging Folder.

You can install Vortex on any drive, and you can have the download folder on any drive.

I tried moving the path to (C:\Game\Vortex\Downloads) got a "Missing Downloads Folder" message. Then tried (C:\Game Downloads\Downloads) same message. Lastly, I tried to move back to the E drive and make a new path separate from the Mods path (E:\Game Mod Downloads\Vortex\Downloads) this resulted in the same error message.

So I reinstalled Vortex and the paths seem to be working correctly now; however, it say my "deployment method is no longer applicable." Under detail it says "reason: Game not fully initialized yet, this should disappear soon." Do I just need to run Skyrim SE to initialize it?

 

I'm using Hardlink Deployment.

So I redownloaded Vortex and set the paths as such (E:\Game\Vortex\Mods) and (E:\Game\Vortex\Download). I went bace into file explorer to see if everything was okay in the files. That when I say that the Mods folder disappeared. There was just the Downloads folder, in it was a folder called skyrimse and _vortex_downloads_folder. In the skyrimse folder the is a text file called _vortex_staging_folder. I wanna know if this is alright?

That keeps happening, because you keep ignoring me when I tell you to NOT put your DOWNLOADS and MOD STAGING Folders inside the same folder.
So Vortex, makes the Download Folder, then you put the Mod Staging folder inside the Vortex Folder alongside the Downloads folder, so Vortex keeps assigning your E:\Game\Vortex\Downloads\skyrimse as your Mod Staging Folder

Don't install them in the same place, I've told you that already

Is your Game installed on your E drive?

 

Did Vortex detect your game?

 

Check GAMES tab, is Skyrim SE in the MANAGED Section or in the Unmanaged section?
