kurt91
I've been using a guide to set up a New Vegas game, and I had a bit of a difficult time when it came to the texture replacers. I hit the button to make a choice about which mods are used for individual files, and it's damn near impossible to get through. I hit the button and I'm shown all of the different files that are being overwritten by multiple mods. I click the button for the specific file, and I'm given a list of every single possible mod that can win that particular overwrite. Even understanding what I'm trying to do, it's difficult to parse through the list. As far as I can tell, nothing is sorted or organized in any conceivable way. Could we get a bit more of a streamlined approach? Like, when I click on "custom rules" on a particular mod, instead of showing every single custom rule that's been made, just show the ones that are currently involved with the mod I clicked on. I was expecting to see 15 entries on the list when it said "15 conflicting files", not thousands of entries because I'm loading up tons of texture sets in layers of what they cover. (Specific textures overwriting groups of textures, overwriting complete texture packs) There ought to be a "show me everything" button, and a "show me only what this mod involves" one. That alone would be a massive improvement, but taking it a step further, when you pick out the file you want to manage from that list and look through the drop-down menu to pick out which mod should win out in the end, could we get that drop-down list sorted a bit? Something like > Newest Mod> Prior Conflict Victor- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -> List of Other Mods This way, if I get in-game and decide that the newest texture that I picked out isn't doing it for me and I liked what the previous version was, I can actually see which the previous version was instead of having to try and remember which of the 15 layers of gradually-more-specific texture sets had the particular one that I liked. AugustaCalidia
If you have suggestions to make, use Vortex feedback. That way your suggestions will get noticed and logged.
kurt91
Where would that be? I looked and it said "Vortex Discussion" was for feedback, so I posted here. Where should I have posted this?
AugustaCalidia
Look on your Vortex dashboard, upper right hand corner, the three vertical dots. Click on the dots and follow the menu.
Pickysaurus
I do actually like this idea :) Please do send it through as Augusta says
kurt91
Sorry it took so long, but I got the request sent in. It took a while since I'm a college student and had to get through my classes and everything before I did it. I also mentioned the topic and included a link, because the feedback input box requested being as concise as possible, and I wasn't sure if I was getting the point across well. So, hopefully this gets seen and gets added in. I recently got SkyrimVR and FO4VR, and I haven't gotten to try them out yet. (I'm currently setting up New Vegas to run in VR using VorpX with a bunch of mods. I can't believe I've never played it modded without Tale of Two Wastelands. TTW is great, but it's insanely limiting in what mods are compatible.) Hopefully, this can be implemented before I start building a modlist for the two VR games. I'm already a bit nervous of any modding hiccups making me queasy during testing. Anything to make the process a bit easier would be nice.
