bionicyardiff
I admit that my initial thought upon seeing the message was that this looks like one of those "file-sharing" websites where you can pay for instant access to whatever dodgy files they hold, or you wait for several minutes to get it for free. I was not pleased. After sleeping on it though, and doing a bit of talking and thinking, I came to the realization: Lifetime Premium is about the cost of a good date-night with movies, dinner, and drinks. Given that I've enjoyed the free access for over a year, I should stop being a cheap bastard and give some support. (I've been thinking along those lines off-and-on anyway.) So yeah, now I'm a lifetime premium. I just wish that it didn't feel quite so...dodgy.
LucidLady
I have no problem paying for premium. I waste money on frivolous things every dang day. Things I enjoy way less than this website and the mods. Up until now, i've kept my adblock turned off for this site. The only reason I haven't actually paid for premium yet is general life complications. But the way they've gone about implementing this new notice is... extremely off-putting. It's ugly. The fact that it loads an entire additional page is super unnecessary, cumbersome and unpleasant. The five second wait time comes across like every other scummy file-hosting site. I've turned adblock on for this site now. I'm not going to deal with all these inconveniences AND ads. I understand the need for money. But the way they've gone about this is terrible. It reeks of detachment from the userbase. It just seems like they could have tried any number of other, less-intrusive things before this generic tactic that we have now. It definitely does not make me want to buy Premium. At least not any more than I wanted to before. And this doesn't mean I won't buy premium at some point in the future, when I can. I always pay for memberships to whatever things I enjoy. But today certainly is the first time i've hit up google for any alternative sites to nexus. HadToRegister
A one-time payment for a LIFETIME Membership costs exactly what I pay for ONE MONTH of Internet access.I've had lifetime premium since 2008, the longer you have it, the cheaper it is essentially.I pay $74.99/mo for Internet, a lifetime membership is $75 (Or was, when I bought it)I don't know how much per month people are paying for internet access, but a one-time payment is a good deal, One and Done. Just food for thought

So, to add to your woes, you've chosen to cap your download speed to 1 MB/s? Sounds like a plan.

Also should be mentioned that the data limit isn't really an issue The only reason I haven't actually paid for premium yet is general life complications. If your solution to all these "problems" is to compound your problem set with another problem and which doesn't actually solve any of what you see as problems, it's not a good solution. Protesting with an ad blocker as a free user doesn't impact anyone except yourself. If anything, you're just reinforcing the Nexus' need to push Premium harder. 4killmaster
*Redacted I'm out of line* if Nexus is hurting for money they should have a monthly fund quota banner like many other sites that operate off donations do to let users who are feeling generous help out. OSDevon
There's no need to keep reminding us that certain features like uncapped downloads are being locked behind a paywall. And there's no need to keep harassing and begging for donations and memberships. Let us use the site and download files in peace. Not everyone wants to pay for features that SHOULD be free. Well well well. I have become quite popular. Over 70 posts and 1,000 views, And of course fools defending anti-user practices. It's your money. You wanna keep lining Robbin's pockets do what you do. And I also notice how the mods download has changed. To spite us non-premium users no doubt. Nothing you(Nexus) do will make me pay up. If anything I'll support smaller sites like modDB and LoversLab to help bring some competition to PC modding and an end to the Nexus monopoly.https://twitter.com/badgamingtakes
AugustaCalidia
Having enjoyed hundreds of hours of free modded gaming, courtesy of Nexus Mods, I felt that I owed this site my financial support. About six years ago I purchased a premium lifetifme membership after having been a member of this site since 2007. Exchange rates were in my favor, and I paid about $65 US, which I had to budget for. However, amortizing that amount over six years, it turns out to have been the best gaming investment I've ever made. I'd do it again. Is there a way to donate directly to the site to support its operation?
axonis
Is there a way to donate directly to the site to support its operation? You can always donate directly to mod authors and cut out the middlemen.
