Heterosexual Pride mod taken down

Hey guys, this mod was up for a f ew hours before taken down, I didnt vote for it, didnt endorese it, didnt comment on it, but I think its f*#@ed up that its taken down. Ive seen alot of gay pride mods out there, why should it be a shameful thing to be straight?

Yeah, it's marked as being under staff review.

Most likely due to complaints.

Personally myself, I don't see anything wrong with it, but I do know that making a thread about it really won't do a whole lot. The staff and owner will come to their own conclusions about and decide if it stays or goes.

As I said, I personally saw nothing wrong with it, but "some" found it to be offensive. All I'm gonna say is what is fair for some, should be fair for all. That the rights of some, should not be over weighed by the rights of others. But. I have faith in the staff here on the site.

I only hope that the mod author doesn't get into trouble over it.

 

Edit: I AM gonna go ahead and say THIS tho. Words of advice to anybody thinking about posting to this. THINK BEFORE YOU POST. This subject has the potential to get hot, real fast.

Be Better than the other side, and keep anything that could get you into trouble, to yourself. Don't let them push you to typing anything that you could get banned for.

Heyas Stronglav!

I think the point of the post was to garner support for the mod, so that it wouldn't be permanently removed from the nexus.

It was a simple mod, that added several t-shirts and a glow in the dark necklace.

The T-shirts had a logo on them that read "Straight Pride" or something very similar.

Certain communities were offended by it, and started trolling the mod page. Where the page turned into a lgbtq/gay vs straights fight. In under 4 hours of being posted to the nexus, no less.

Mod is currently under staff review.

There's really not much point in posting a link to said mod, it's an orange page right now. But-

Personally I don't think it should be removed. If it is, then the other pride mods are going to be removed as well, at least.

 

I mean, we've got third reich flags/clothing and hitler presets. Does the moderation team really want to have to make arbitrary judgments on every mod going forward?

It does set a bad precedent, in my eyes.

I've always seen the nexus play a neutral party to things.

And, I'll also say this. I honestly don't want to see a day when the Nexus starts knuckling under to gangs and mobs of the "socially-politically offended" and "perpetually angry".

Which, I honestly don't really think is what's happening here. I'd been around in cases where the staff got hit with lots of requests for some of the nazi mods to be removed, based on "personally offensive". And most of those mods (for better, for worse) are still here.

There are even rules in place, AGAINST reporting mods due to being personally offended by them.

But I can't honestly say that I have any idea at all of what's going on back there in the staff-only parts of the forums. Behind "Closed doors" so to speak.

 

What REALLY surprises me tho, is that I don't see any bans on the wall of shame, in regards to the back and forth in the posts section of that mod. The posts section of that mod heated up pretty hot.

Look, straight people are the default. We're doing fine. This is the same as that "it's okay to be white" garbage. No one is telling you it isn't. You know no one is telling you it isn't. We can have just about any other "pride" mod, but, if folks disagree with it, they are labeled bigots, or somethingorother-phobic. In my view, what's good for the goose, is good for the gander. If EVERYONE else can have their 'pride' mod, why are straight people being discriminated against here?
