Let me see here. You all are complaining that you have to choose where to download from, as well as whether to remain a free user or become a premium one? It is really a choice you need to make for yourself, and not complain about.

I have been a premium member several times and I find this outrageous. When my current Premium expires, I have have a mind to never renew it again.

and that bit i highlighted is exactly why this new page exists.

I turned adblock off specifically to help support this site but this really ticks me off. I can't have premium *every* month and I truly do NOT feel like being punished for that even if I do turn adblock off. This is NOT ok.

But you DID make that point, by "Threatening to go to Bethesda.net", as if you going there was going to make any monetarily difference to Nexus mods.

If individual users are so useless and unnecessary to the Nexus monetarily speaking, why are they pushing this in the first place? They don't need us, right? The fact that this practice that you have chosen to defend exists in the first place negates your point.

This change is gross. I am a supporter right now, and have been a Premium member multiple times in the past, usually during periods of heavy mod downloading. The banners advertising file speed are annoying but acceptable, even if they should be removed for supporters. After all, part of being a supporter is NO ADS! But being badgered about Premium membership every time I download a file? That's way over the line. It's the time of tactic you see on scumbag websites, those that usually host pirated files. And again, as a supporter, I should not be seeing ads! This doubly includes ads from the Nexus! I know all about Premium membership, since I have purchased it multiple times.

I doubt I'll go Premium again. I almost certainly would have at some point, I like throwing a few bucks at the Nexus team every now and again when I can afford it and when I am using their servers more than usual. But I will not support this disgusting business practice.

Here's a suggestion, and I'm not being snarky.

I believe premium is $2.99/mo correct?

so, instead of paying Nexus $3.00/mo, put it aside, in 1 year, you'll have HALF of the Lifetime Premium fee.

If you can double that to $6.00/mo, you'll have $72 at the end of a year, which (if the price is still the same, I heard it may have gone down), will either be enough for Lifetime, or just short by $3.00

Get rid of that stupid page. Yes, asking for funding is fine but holy crap, this looks like begging. I know my downloads will be limited you already told me via the notice right above the main files you don't need to remind me again about picking download speeds.

I think, by prefixing your entitlement with "seriously" you may have solved this for everyone. Well done you. I mean it. Well done.

1. That's not the point of this thread, or (I highly suspect) Suspiria's post. (Suspiria, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.) The point is that this new change is badgering to the point of driving off people who have supported and helped pay for this website in the past, and might otherwise have again in the future.

2. If your point here is to help support the website, frankly, encouraging people to go the lifetime premium route isn't nearly as supportive as people who pay by the month, given that most people who would be willing to pay that much money at once are going to be using Nexus for more than the couple years that price is worth. I mean, it's a great deal for those who have the extra money to buy a lifetime premium subscription, but. Once they've used the website for a year or two that they would have otherwise been paying, then they're dead weight just like users who are either free members, or supporters.

3. For someone who isn't affected by this (at the moment at least, although from your posts, I assume you've purchased a lifetime premium account yourself), you're arguing awfully hard against anyone who isn't a current premium member, aka everyone who is affected by this. Like, I've seen your name so many times in these threads already, and I'm skimming and only somewhat keeping up-to-date on every single thread, it's clear that you feel like you have a huge personal stake in this new change, which. Makes no sense. This doesn't affect you. Yet you're making a point of attacking the people who are (quite rightfully, I think) upset over this change. Many of whom (because there are plenty of supporters like myself who are upset by this, as well as current premium users) have helped pay for Nexus in the past, and might have again in the future if not for this badgering and bullying tactic.

Why? Why are you attacking so many people over something that doesn't affect you? Why do you have such a clear personal stake in this? Why do you keep (seemingly intentionally) missing the point of other people's posts and responses? Just. Sigh.

So, you attack my post where I'm trying to make a helpful suggestion to some.

Way to go.
