GreedFall: Vortex mods not working anymore (till yesterday)

Hello,

 

I'm not sure, but I think yesterday (19.12.2019) was a little GreedFall Update/Patch. o_O

I think till this patch I don't have my Vortex mods anymore. Before they worked really fine! I changed nothing. :ohmy: And suddenly I got no mods anymore AND I had suddenly a dialogue-bug in GreedFall (got Sound but NO dialouge sound anymore). Both problems happen at the same time. I could solve the dialogue bug (I uninstalled and re-installed my headset and all this stuff).

 

But whatever I do ... my Vortex mods don't work anymore. :sad:

 

I have Vortex 1_1_1_5

 

I have Win10, x64

 

I have GreedFall (suppose with the last Update ... )

 

I had about 16 mods in Vortex for GreedFall and they worked fine until yesterday. I have Resorep with about 3 graphic mods for GreedFall, too.

 

No error message ... just the mods don't appear in the game anymore. But before they have been in. I'm sure.

I found a solution .... : I have to install all mods manual. I can't use Vortex anymore. I don't know how. :sad:

 

I put every mod manual into the datalocal folder (GreedFall Fmain folder) and search than if there is a .sli file. IF there is one; I open it with a text editor and chance something (like Version from 1.0 to 1.1). I save the chances and than the "date" of the file is older than the last update. I have done this to every mod and ... it work now.

For the dialogue bug: I uninstalled my whole Headset (I have even taken the plug out). Than I re-installed it new, restartet the PC and now it work again.

Probably what happened is the same thing that happens to other Bioware type game when they update
People have problems when Dragonage updates as well, because sometimes for whatever reason, the developer moves the exe to a different folder.
Same with Sims 4

You are so right. :( With Skyrim I had the same problem.

 

Steam should really, really give their customers the possibility to choose if they want to have a Update or not .....
