Captainastora
I like the game, but it's not AMAZING to me. I'm looking for some mods to help keep me hooked. Some suggestions would be great and I'll leave a little list of things I think may help. Immersion: Stuff to do, people to talk to and interact with. Friends, Family or otherwise. Character Creation/Customization: Cannot not stress this enough, the more my character feels like it's MINE the better. Pretty: Pretty world, Pretty Sights and most of all, Pretty Clothing and Armor. Adult Themes: I am an adult, and I don't mind Skimpy Boys and girls, lovers, or the occasional sexy clothing. Ease of Use: If it make the game and menus make more sense, good. anjenthedog
Well then, you came to a right place. Check the nexus mods categories tab (top most menu if you're in the regular part of the Skyrim Special Edition site) as well as keeping tabs on the daily additions. (Click "Mods", then click "Categories") Alternatively, you can check the most endorsed if that's to your liking.
Moksha8088
The best is always a personal opinion and that varies from player to player, but this is my experience: The best quest mod is Interesting NPCs.The best companion mod is Inigo. The best body mod is CBBE.The best texture mod is Noble Skyrim SE.Two must have mods are the Unofficial Patch and SKSE64. Other great mods: Outlaws and Revolutionaries (now found on Discord), Lucien, Vilja, Song of the Green, Anna's NPCs, Project AHO, M'rissi Tail of Trouble, Helgen Reborn, Falskaar, Wyrmstooth, Legacy of the Dragonborn and others. That will keep you busy for quite some time. You can use all the Amidianborn Armor textures from the old version of Skyrim to make for nicer looking armor. As to adult stuff, you can look that up at your leisure.
strawbqwerty
You can do a search on Google for mod lists, bit like mod packs with out the mods. These lists are good as the author of the list has done the hard yards sorting out a list of mods that will for the most part play nice together. Save a whole lot of time doing this your self. Also Check out https://wiki.step-project.com/Project:Skyrim_Special_Edition This will give you a excellent guide for setting up a modded Skyrim. If you really want some thing different but within skyrim still. You could try another world mod like Rudra or Falskaar or a number of others around. shumkar
Nobody mentioned SkyUI? For me, it's the best interface mod.
kthompsen
If this game wasn't amazing to you back in 2011 (and you didn't complete it then), with no mods, I'm afraid that any new mods won't drastically make it amazing either. I could be wrong, but that's my two cents. Mods are great and fix some flaws, but yet, there's only so much you can do with them. The truly big improvements (at the engine and systems level) that we all want to see will only come from Bethesda themselves. I can only hope that TES 6 delivers here, and they aren't recycling Gamebryo/Creation engine/etc.. Skyrim is basically the best they could do with the basic tech they had for a decade, as it was. It's amazing that mods have taken it this far. We're still talking about the game in 2020. That said, I like the site www.tesgeneral.com as a general guide. It's an oldschool site, but still updated with helpful picks in each category. Just surfing the Nexus can be overwhelming. JimmyRJump
Veydosebrom for grass and ground cover.Add EEK's Renthal Flora Collection on top of it.Add Mentha's More Colorful Critters.Add JK's Riverwood and JK's Whiterun or if you want the whole kaboodle you can opt for JK's Skyrim. I'm using the former two because the whole set clashes with other mods I'm using. Then add Trees In Cities SE.Next add 3D Trees And Plants. Then add Majestic Mountains. Choose the Darkside option.Add Better Dynamic Snow.Add Obsidian Weathers And Seasons.Add the Ominous ENB. If by then you're not amazed by Skyrims surroundings, you don't need mods but a doctor. Here's how Riverwood looks in my game. And here's how the mountainside of High Hrotgar looks.
