Download Folder Setup

I've been upgrading my computer and had to delete vortex and reeinstall. When setting up my download folder, I go thru the steps, but when I open my download folder, instead of seeing vortex/fallout4, I see vortex/fallout4/fallout4. When I try to set it as vortex/fallout4, and download a mod, it goes back to vortex/fallout4/fallout4. Then when I load the game, no mods load. What gives? I haven't had any trouble in the past with it.

When you say "Had to DELETE vortex" do you mean you uninstalled it, or just deleted it?

Vortex will automatically add the game name to your folders.
Your problem is, is that you're setting up your download folder for Fallout 4, by telling Vortex your download folder is Vortex\Fallout 4
So when Vortex sets up your download folder, it creates another Fallout 4 folder INSIDE your Vortex\Fallout 4\ folder so you end up with Vortex\Fallout4\Fallout4\

You really should name your Download folder something like Vortex Downloads\, same with Vortex\Mod Staging\

That way, when you point Vortex to Vortex Downloads\, Vortex will name the download folder fore Fallout 4, like this....Vortex Downloads\Fallout4\
Same with your mod staging folder, it will end up being Vortex\Mod Staging\Fallout4\

when you say you "had to", do you mean that you "chose to"? There is zero correlation between you upgrading your computer and being forced to uninstall any application.
