Guest deleted34304850
my answer to you was in no way dickish. your reply back, which should have said something like "thanks for the solid advice, do you have anything I can refer to, in order to make my game work and increase my own knowledge of modding so that i can get maximum enjoyment out of my game and nexusmods" but didn't, was the dick move. You're welcome. Ceolweld
And now the game crashes after around a minute of playing. Again, no message, the application just stops and kicks me out to home window. Muttermuttermutter... Removed all the mods, now I will carefully pick only the ones that have been updated after November 7th. Are the free mods available from the game menu good to go? HadToRegister
The game starts, and a second after the first clip (like the "Standby" one) starts, it just closes. There is no error message. The game starts properly when every mod is disabled. I accidentally installed a non-English version of the game, can that be the cause of the issue? Also, and I do not know if the issues are related, Vortex gives me a notification about "Missing Masters": "Some of the enabled plugins depend on other that are not enabled". Then it lists mostly the DLC .esm files. The only DLC that I own is Far Harbor, and I do not want to buy others. I tried running the game as administrator or as a normal user, I tried to run it compatible with Windows 8 and Windows 7 (no option to run it compatible with Windows 10, which is what I use). I also tried installing Script Extender and starting the game with the loader, still nothing. Let's have a look at the mods you're using. That would help in determining what the problem is. The game once again shut down on its own, this time a moment after the part of the opening scene where the family runs out of house. The mods I'm using are: - Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch- We Are The Minutemen- M249 Light Machine Gun- AWKCR The last two were downloaded and installed manually. I recall AWKCR's Vortex version (I think the mod was updated literally hours ago, and atm can't be downloaded by Vortex, or at least was not when I last checked) causing my Vortex to complain about missing plugins, so I will try once again, this time without it. Do you guys think that other mods, at least the more popular ones, will get updated soon? These four (three I guess >_>) are way too few for me to play. I need stuff like better settlers, quieter settlements, armorsmith and weaponsmith, longer power lines, and these are just the basics.
HadToRegister
This is why you're crashing... AWKCR requires ALL DLC. Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch requires ALL DLCYou only own Far Harbor. The Missing Masters Vortex is referring to is the other FIVE missing DLCs.You cannot use those two mods because they require you own all 6 dlc. Just so we're clear, I need to own all DLC in order to be able to install a patch? Maybe it is because I don't understand how these things work, but to me it sounds absurd. So I have to choose between spending money on a bunch of DLCs I don't want or not having a patched game? Edit: Okay, I disabled both AWKCR the Unofficial Patch and the game still crashes. I think I will uninstall the game, make sure to remove any files left behind and install it again, only taking... two mods, I guess... Maybe I'll wait with playing F4 until more mods get updated. HadToRegister
Uninstall the mods before you uninstall the game. Those two specific patches require all of the mods to be installed, because it's far too hard to maintain a patch that covers every possible combination of who has which DLC.Since there's 6 DLC that means there's the possible combinations of ESPs Patches that would have to be madeThere would need to be 6 different patches made just for the people who only own ONE DLC, as 6 patches would cover whichever was the ONE DLC that people owned. Then there would need to be 15 different patches to cover all combinations of patches for people who only own TWO DLC 20 different patches to cover all the possible combinations of people who own 3 DLCAnother 15 to cover all the possible combinations of 4 DLCSix to cover the combinations of 5 DLCand ONE for all 6 dlc.So, that would mean, every time the game updates, and they update the patch, they would have to update and edit 63 different ESPs, to accommodate the different combinations of DLC someone is capable of owning. Ceolweld
Okay. So, seeing how I don't want to buy the remaining DLCs, all that is left for me to do is to wait for as many mods that do not require them (and there is seemingly not a lot of them) to get updated so that they work with Fallout 4's newest version, right? HadToRegister
Yes. However, any future mods you want to download and use, you need to check out the Requirement section, as many mods require other DLC to be installed.
rmm200
Saying this once does not seem to convince people, so let me try saying it: If a mod description (yes, you have to read them) says a specific DLC or other mods are required, that mod will install fine but Fallout 4 will crash due to the missing Master. That is not an opinion - that is a fact. Nothing we can do to make you believe it though. Meanwhile - only install mods you have all the requirements for.
