Basic security knowledge

A tip for the website developers, making too many requiremetns for passwords makes them less secure, since people need to write them down on a paper or on a txt file. So stop asking for friking upper case + lower case +numbers + 12 characters + the blood of a virgin.

no-one has asked you to write anything down or store it in a text file. if you do that, that's on you.

Join the 21st century and get yourself a password manager. There are many options out there.

Or, don't.

kalarro, heyas!

There's been some stuff going on, that a lot of the normies don't know about. (and I mean no disrespect or intent to flame, with that term) a normie is somebody who simply just goes about their normal day to day, without getting actively involved or proactively searching for information that goes on behind the scenes.

The site has Always been a target for spammers. In a lot of those cases, the advertisers use what are called "bots" increased password strength helps to fight bots.

There has been some site leeching going on, against the site a few months ago, where another site was leeching files from the nexus, to host on their own site, without permission from the authors who'd posted their mods here. Added security due to that.

There is also a problem with some sites that are publicly account sharing information. Again, more security needed.

There is also the basic security knowledge that basic 6 digit passwords are now pretty outdated.

It's not that I'm trying to argue with you, or make light of your complaint. Only that there's site reasons why they've increased the security around here.

Writing your passwords down on a post-it note would reduce your security risk to those in your own home. If you can't trust those people, no amount of site or user security can help you anyway.

There's also password protected zip files or PW protected word docs. But then, there's just one more password that users have to complain about using. (No, that's not directed at you Arthmoor) I was just making a comment about the post it note.
