In case you've missed it... Might be worth checking patches are up-to-date... Although this is being described as a 'serious flaw' according to PC Magazine:

"The good news is that Microsoft has uncovered no one abusing the vulnerability yet. Older operating systems, such as Windows 7, also remained unaffected. Nevertheless, the NSA predicts hackers will both quickly create and distribute tools to remotely exploit the flaw."

Sorry - I know this is serious which is why I've bothered to post but I have to be amused by the: "How to upgrade to Windows 10" link on the above page given that they say that Windows 7 is 'unaffected'... I would have thought that now wasn't a particular auspicious time to suggest an 'upgrade'... :whistling:

Yeah, I saw that. I have the funny little icon down by my clock even as I type, telling me I need to reboot to install some updates. :D

I remember those icons... On Steam there's a Linux user group (I think I found it thanks to you). Anyway, one of the tabs is 'Artwork'... I wondered what Linux users would consider artwork... They have a picture of Darth Vader and: 'Come over to the dark side...'

If you have Pro you can use group policy editor to stop updates from automatically restarting/rebooting. The WinAero tweak tool lets you stop updates entirely but thats a bit stringent to me. It also has an option to stop driver updates as they're just annoying (just installed a "proper" Realtek audio driver but WU would revert it to its poor version if it had the chance).

I believe win 10 home will let you set "active hours", and the system won't prompt for a restart during those hours.
