Avrys
When I select the folder manually Vortex says, that It could not find the game within the folder "This directory doesn't appear to contain the game. Expected to find these files: SkyrimSE.exe" I see skyrimSE application and it says it is a .exe file. So do I have to rename it somehow? or what do I do? HadToRegister
Why don't you just have Vortex scan for it, by picking FULL SCAN?It will quickly find it in your Steam Directory Also, are you telling Vortex to manually look for Skyrim, and you're directing it to your Skyrim SE install directory instead?-OR- do you have Skyrim LE installed and you're telling it to look for Skyrim SE? Avrys
I did do the full scan and when that showed nothing i attempted to manually direct it to the correct file but it just shows the folder that the .exe is in and the .exe doesn't show up as an option to choose. I have skyrim SE that i just got off steam. It is located on my D drive and i checked to make sure it is searching the D drive.

This has been covered many times....If you pay attention to what the procedure is, Vortex is asking you for the FOLDER where the EXE is located, it's not asking you to point out the EXE, it's asking you to show it where the FOLDER is.That, is why you don't see the EXE when you click on the Skyrim SE folder. Once you pick the Skyrim SE FOLDER, just click APPLY.

The FOLDER is selected as where to look, and when doing the full scan it still doesn't detect any games.

rmm200
Also be aware only normal disks (SSDs, HDs, etc) are supported. OneDrive is not, nor NAS devices.
