Frogdogwastaken
Hey, I was trying to play a modded version of Kingdom Come Deliverance, got a little carried away and decided to start from scratch. I deleted all mods from the folder, deleted the game and reinstalled. Vortex is now looking for my old mods. i wanted to start fresh so i uninstalled vortex and reinstalled. Vortex still looking for deleted mods and wont let me activate the game because the old mods aren't there so i cant purge from within vortex because i cant access the game settings. Is my only action to reinstall all of the mods i didn't want just to get into my vortex settings?
HadToRegister
Unfortunately, your problem was caused by what you did.Instead of Uninstalling and Removing the mods via the Mod MANAGER, you instead Deleted them using Windows File Explorer, so now, Vortex has no clue that you deleted the mods, rather than uninstalling them with Vortex, so now it doesn't know what to do.This would happen with any mod manager, because you basically 'went behind it's back" and deleted the files yourself. Now the Mod Manager has no idea what happened. When you want to REMOVE or UNINSTALL Mods, you need to use the Mod Manager that you used to INSTALL them, to also UNINSTALL them. You can't just delete them with Windows File Explorer and expect them to know that you did that. You're going to have to start from complete Scratch now.Uninstall Vortex, delete your C:\users\<YOURNAME>\appdata\roaming\vortex\ folder.............JUST THE VORTEX FOLDER not the entire path!!!And from now on, when you INSTALL a mod using a Mod Manager, make sure to UNINSTALL the Mod with the Mod Manager.Don't just go deleting stuff willy-nilly with Windows File Explorer. Frogdogwastaken
That's exactly what I wanted, thanks for the response. I wanted to start from step 1 so i uninstalled vortex but i didnt know about the appdata folder in C: so i kept getting old settings when i reinstalled. I'm obviously new to this MM, thanks for your consideration.
