CTD On main screen tried what I can think of

So i'm CTDing on the Main Screen when I start the game, I press nothing it guest loads up has the music then crashes after like a second or 2.

 

I've tried checking integrity, tried uninstalling reinstalling, tried uninstalling all mods then reinstalling down the list, tried the disconnect internet trick, tried the firewall trick, reinstalled F4SE.

 

So nothings corrupt from what I can tell mods aren't the problem because i've used the same list before and nothing crashed. I have steam version of Fallout 4. Also it wasn't crashing before the new update. I will say I use an older version of Fallout 4 because there are mods that aren't updated(Version that was before the December 2019 update or whatever). So new update came around launched fallout 4 noticed it was a new update closed F4 rolled back everything, and now all of a sudden it crashes, and since i've uninstalled reinstalled i've also tried launching with new version still nothing. Oh and I have all the required specs to play the game i've made sure of that(Running windows 8 but haven't had a problem before). Also I know creation club f's things up as well

 

Any who sorry for the long right i'm just stumped and have spent like around a day searching for a fix and came up with nothing.

If you install just the game itself, and the DLC, does it still crash?

 

Did you clean out your Fallout 4 folders in My games, and Appdata folders??

 

If you don't use any of the CC content, delete all the CC assets from your data folder.

Heyas Trooper. Ugh, quite the conundrum that you have here. :(

You've covered a lot of the bases, checking the most of the usual suspects.

Here's a few other things. Are you starting the game thru a mod manager like vortex, nmm, mo2? If so, does it still crash if you load it from f4se, the game launcher, or just the game exe itself?

 

If it still crashes, backup your .ini files in your documents/my games/fallout4 folder, delete the ones that are in there, and run the game thru the launcher.exe to rebuild your ini files, and try again. If that works, you'll have to replace the lines for invalidating older files, so your mods will work.

 

You said that you've validated the files. Are you sure that you're big mods are up to date? To match the new version of the game? Like f4se, looksmenu, armorsmith extended, etc.

 

when you're trying this without mods, are you doing it on an old save, or a new game? Try it on a new game. Save files can be corrupted.

 

Also make sure that all of your exe files have administrator access.
