Chaoticangelfish
So as far as I'm aware of I have everything installed I need. However, when I go to run the game through SKSE in vortex I get the error:"Executable does not exist, please check the configuration for the tool you tried to start"I tried playing with it some using what I found online, but it seemed to make it worse. The only thing I can think of is the path it used to download my mods is not the path where the game is.It is downloading them in:Username/AppData/Roaming/Vortex/skyrimse/modsHowever my game file path is:C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim Special Edition Would this be why things are not working right? I saw something about setting .exe to administration and I set the skyrimse.exe in my normal files to administration and the skse.exe in the weird vortex files. Any help would be appreciated! I am not very knowledgeable about mod stuff so if you do know what the heck I'm doing wrong can you please dumb down any explanation. Thank you! HadToRegister
Did you follow the instructions inside the SKSE zip file? Quote [ Installation ] 1. Copy the .dll and .exe files to your Skyrim SE directory. This is usually in your Program Files folder under Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\. If you see files named SkyrimSE and SkyrimSELauncher, this is the correct folder. Do not copy these files to the Data folder as with a normal mod. The "src" folder is only useful for programmers, most users can ignore it. 2. Copy the .pex files in Data\Scripts\ into the Data\Scripts\ folder of your installation. The .pex files are needed by all users of SKSE.
Chaoticangelfish
When I do it that way it wants my Skyrim file, not my Skyrim Special Edition file. I did make sure to get the SE version. Ok I was following instructions very close to that, but it was off on a few things so what I did didn't work. Thank you for pointing that out! Ok, so I don't get the error anymore *yay*! However, I now get told it can't find the SkyrimSE.exe file. :(

OK, one more thing, In the Dashboard, I assume you have SKSE64 set to PRIMARY, so it automatically starts when you start SKyrim, however, check your TARGET and START IN fields, they should look similar...(from Steam\Steamapps on...) Yes that is it! Thank you so much!! It was grabbing the .exe from my data file instead of the main file. You are my hero! :)
