Wererommel
I just started a new game. All went well until I tried to create a cage from the workshop menu. The cage appeared, but was immediately covered with this huge pop-up explaining how cages work. And the game froze. ESC did nothing. Tab did nothing. No key did anything. There was nothing I could do but shut down the program. Googling around, I saw some line in the Fallout.ini file (bShowTutorials=0) was supposed to turn off the tutorials. It didn't help. Neither did the mod that is supposed to turn off tutorials. If anyone knows how to turn off pop-ups, please let me know.

Wererommel
Oops, I was supposed to hit Enter, which did not occur to me because it wasn't highlighted and I had just entered it.
StormWolf01
Googling around, I saw some line in the Fallout.ini file (bShowTutorials=0) was supposed to turn off the tutorials. It didn't help. If anyone knows how to turn off pop-ups, please let me know. I'm glad to hear that you worked it out. :smile:While I don't know whether or not that ini edit is supposed to work. I can tell you a definite reason why that one wouldn't. IF it's in your ini file exactly as you posted it.equals o [oh] will NOT work. It has to be either a 0 [zero] or a 1 [one] in order for that to work. 1 is yes/positive 0 is no/negative. So in this instance, you don't want it to show them, so it would be bShowTutorials=0It could also be that the line for that bit of code might be in the incorrect place. What [Header] is it listed under in your ini file?If that's just a typo in your post, not in your .ini file, go ahead and disregard. Edited January 27, 2020 by StormWolf01

StormWolf01
hahaha or... it could be that! :laugh:Sorry, there wasn't any other zeros there in your post for comparison. I know that from the fallout 4 launcher there's a setting for turning off the tutes, but I dunno if it works very well or not.
HeyYou
hahaha or... it could be that! :laugh:Sorry, there wasn't any other zeros there in your post for comparison. I know that from the fallout 4 launcher there's a setting for turning off the tutes, but I dunno if it works very well or not.It doesn't. Unfortunately. I tried it, in hopes of getting rid of the messages that I have grown tired of. "Press V to open the workshop".... Well after several thousand hours in game, I think I have that one figgered out. Unfortunately, I think the only way to get rid of those messages, gets rid of ALL of them. Including the ones you WANT to see.
StormWolf01
Yeah. I just tried to get rid of them using Fallout4ConfigTool, and I still got the tute when I just tried to hack a terminal for the first time.
