F4SE Crashing shortly after being launched

Hey everyone!

So I installed the latest F4se update (f4se_0_06_20) a couple of weeks ago, and made sure that all the mods I use that require f4se were up to date as well (these being looksmenu, player voice frequency, mod configuration menu, advanced animation framework and extended dialogue interface), unfortunately, everytime I try to launch f4se, it crashes shortly after showing the main game screen. I´ve already tried disabling the mods that rely on f4se and it keeps crashing, also tried reinstalling f4se but it did nothing. One thing that caught my attention was the fact that when launching f4se while being offline it actually works but eventually crashes after some time in game. I don´t really know how to fix this since I´ve already tried a couple solutions and would very much appreciate any help.

Hello from Greece and happy new year.

F4SE also destroy the saves after 10 level and before 30

Try to use it, offline and always use, almost 230 mods. Also keep your hard disk ok, using a defrag program.

i play this game without using f4se. At version 1.10.114 the game, almost stop crashing. After that version the game is going to crash more and more. Try to put extra memory to your PC and keep your graphic card with the latest driver.

i think windows 10 cause many many problems.

i use windows 8.1 and i am happy. i don't like windows 10

i think f4se don't belong to fallout 4. is a extra small program and i don't think the authors of f4se make good work.

There are so many good mods out there, don't need f4se

That's all. Thanks

FO4SE won't crash your game, won't corrupt your saves, or any of the other things folks like to pin on it. It's a script extender. That's it. You have a missing master, or your load order needs adjusting. If you use a mod manager, it should tell you if a master is missing......

I want to add in that some mods that utilize f4se are simply .dll files, with no esm esp or esl controlling them. The game uses a list of file names, which are all esp esm or esl files, to activate or deactivate mods. So for these types of mods that only have a .dll file (which stands for Dynamic Link Library and is essentially a scripted list of instructions to tell a program or piece of hardware how to work) the game isn't keeping track of them from an outside source.

What that means, is that your game can't activate, or deactivate them. To do so, you have to manually remove the mod's files from your f4se folder.

So yeah, some of them you can activate like any other mod others you can't. But, here's what concerns me. You're still running the scripts, inside f4se. Even if the esp file isn't running. In my mind, that seems to be like running an orphaned mod. Which is bad. It can cause crashing, and savegame corruption.

If the game crashes right after the menu screen that could mean a couple of things. 1 That it loaded up a mod that it can't run or can't run completely.

2 That you may be at your mod limit or your esl limit.

If you have updated AWKCR and you did so thru a manager, completely remove it and reinstall it manually. Make very sure that you are getting the folders and files that you need from it into their proper place in the data folder. Also make VERY sure that you are NOT installing the optional files that you don't need.

This is kind of a hunch, but if you are using vortex, try going without it for a bit of a test run for a while.
