Aeons- well, to be honest... as far as what he's saying, and what I'm saying, and about the two of them being connected, is about "what passes for criticism... here on the nexus".

And I'm just saying that the trolls don't get away with nearly as much on here as they used to 10 years ago, in the mod pages.

Tho tbh, the staff cracked down on it as soon as it got reported. I think, more people are just reporting that stuff now.

But yeah. As far as what's acceptable.... it's all a matter of bringing it to their attention by reporting it. The staff can't comb through every mod, hour by hour. There's just too many mods!

 

I don't wanna come off as trying to white knight for the site or the staff. And I haven't really looked at everybody's profile to see what they have or haven't published since I've come back. But, back before I left, at least 3/4 of the staff were modders. Not just gamers, modders.

So yeah. While they know what it's like for the modding community, because most of them are also part of the community.

 

That's not to say that I agree 100% with his outlook. But, from my own past experiences, that I can most definitely understand where it comes from.

So while I may or may not agree with the opinion, having been through it, and even more through it, I'm not gonna argue it.

Sure some people will not have anything constructive to say. But when you go as far as to say all criticism is useless then you've lost the right to be taken seriously.

Idunno. For me, the outlook is a bit different. As far as forums and mods goes.

If you don't like it, fix it yourself. If you don't like it, just close the page and move on. If you don't agree with it, just close the page, and move on.

I honestly canNOT count the number of times that I've posted that to people. Or had to practice it myself.

But, on that same note... I also can't count the number of times that I've posted complaints here in the forums about stuff that I can't fix. *caugh* body slide *caugh* looks menu *caugh*

It's actually kinda wierd. Seeing people post stuff about complaints here in the forums, like, little things about a setting or two, don't bother me. But if I see it in a comments section, the claws start to curl.
