Vortex update broke Vortex

After updating vortex after prompted, vortex closed and downloaded then failed to restart.

Now I can't install vortex at all, A error message pops up when I try:

Error opening file for writing:

c:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\uninstall Vortex.exe

 

I tried deleting 'uninstall vortex' but the computer says I don't have permission.

I have reworked permissions before, but is there an better way to fix my problem?

Try reinstalling Vortex, something could've glitched during the update.

Either that, or you've got Vortex installed twice in two different places.

I could not reinstall vortex like I already said. I did not have vortex installed in more then one place.

I entered into safemode to delete the errant files, and reinstalled vortex.

I can't tell if there was a glitch with vortex or a glitch with my computer, but the original problem is gone.
