Jinxxed0
edit:SOLVED Okay, I found the solution. I hope this can help others who find this via google.I had too many animations/poses installed. Having 15,000 or more animations installed at once causes the CK to crash. But with about 14,800 installed, it no longer crashes. It has been working for a long time, but now all of a sudden it's crashing without any changes being made. I've tried about 5 or 6 times now and it's always crashing no matter what I do. I've tried updating my drivers, I've checked my ini settings and everything is the same as I've always had it when it was working (enableaudio is set to 0), I've restarted my PC, I've googled for a solution, but haven't found anything like this. So now I'm here hoping to find a solution. I don't know if there was maybe some kind of Windows 10 update messing things up or what. That's the only think I can think of that's changed with my computer. My game still runs fine. I just can't load any cells (interior nor exterior) in the creation kit. It just crashes. No error messages, no error sounds, just a little bit of loading and then an instant crash. There has to be some kind of fix for this Edited February 3, 2020 by Jinxxed0
sfcyates2013
I found the solution: If running windows 10: I loaded last week on my old computer. I also upgraded my graphics card. The Creation kit stopped working. To fix this I went under windows security features; windows firewall; under allowed apps I added the creation kit launcher located in the Skyrim SE program file, and Bethesda.net. So far no issues. I saw all the blogs and videos on changing the audio file, that file is not in Skyrim SE. I hope this helps someone.
BlueGunk
Jinxxed0 Thank you! Reporting your experience helped me sort my Creation Kit Render Window crash. The reason was exactly the same. Too many animations! It only affected interior cells for me.
LarryHinkle
You were sent to me by angels. I would NEVER EVER think it was animations. I've been dealing with this for so long. I just went in to Vortex and disabled some animations and sure enough it loaded really quick. Also got an error message about an older pack I use. Who would have thought it loaded all that crap just to render a scene.
PsychoSlammer
HA! damn the animation count... thank you Jinxxed0 for figuring this one out.wondering if we could tweak the ini a bit to allow for a higher number... :)
SJTheFire
How do you know if it's too many animations? And how do I get rid of them? Mine just started crashing upon loading interior cells.
PsychoSlammer
How do you know if it's too many animations? And how do I get rid of them? Mine just started crashing upon loading interior cells.right click on anim folder and look at file count in properties.i "cut" and "pasted" one of my heavy anim mod folders out of there so i could work then pasted them back. then decided i dont play anymore cuz always working on mods so i just uninstalled a couple :)
SJTheFire
I found the problem. It seemed to have been a bad texture file. It's weird how one texture file can throw the whole creation kit off.
