Keybind commands

There would be a couple of issues with adding XP in the strategy layer :

1) Checks for level-up only occur post-mission

2) xp is stored in the structure/field XGStrategySoldier.m_kSoldier.iXP

If it were directly in XGStrategySoldier a command like :

\set XGStrategySoldier_0 iXP 100

might work. As it is it would require writing a new method in XComHeadquartersCheatManager.

I've used GiveXP while on a tactical mission directly from the console and not had any problems. I find it particular useful when trying to do "power testing" -- the combo of \GiveXP 200 and \killaliens makes the missions go quickly if I'm trying to advance to a particular point.

Welcome to the forum NuclearAnt :)

In EW, GivePsiGift command works on Loadout screen of a soldier.

Hey, I can't get this to work. It worked for me on my previous game in March, but for some reason even though I haven't touched the game since it doesn't now.

My DefaultInput.ini file is at F:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown\XEW\XComGame\Config\DefaultInput.ini and looks like:

  Reveal hidden contents

While my Strategy.txt file is at F:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown\XEW\Binaries\Strategy.txt and looks like:

  Reveal hidden contents

I'd really like to know if I'm doing anything stupid or wrong. I'm fairly sure I'm not because nothing has changed in between this time and the last except for the values in the Strategy.txt file because I wanted different things between the end of my last game and the start of my current. Game is the latest version from Steam and that's all I know about that.

Thanks for any help.

Can't tell for certain from forum formatting of your post, but are you using the vertical double-quote marks (") instead of the angled ones (`` '') as cautioned about in the "Keybind Commands" wiki article "Good to know" section?

Also note that EW patch 3 "restored the previous DefaultInput functionality."

(See "Basic Guide to installing mods" to determine which patch level you are on.)
