leckerli
Version of Vortex 1.1.14SkyrimSE installed on F:\ drive in August 2019Windows Version 10 x64 When cleaning C:\ drive I realized that Skyrim SE was installed on F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition and on C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition. In Vortex the game path is set to F:\ and the Mod staging folder is F:\Vortex Mods\{game}. But in the steam library the path to the local files points to C:\ drive and I never checked on this when installing the game and the mods. Some files have a more recent date on C:\ (January 24th 2020 zhan on F:\ August and November 2019 (se attached screenshots).May I move the game to F: via the steam library or is there another wayy to clean the mix up and prevvent this in case I have to intall the whole game anew on my F:\ drive? HadToRegister
I don't even know how it's possible to have Skyrim SE installed TWICE through Steam
leckerli
When I tried to move the game SkyrimSE from C-drive to F-drive under steam (as was possible for The Witcher 3 and others) the following messsage came up: "The game already exists in the chosen steam library on F:\ ) see also attaches screenshot. At the same time when clicking the menu item " search local files" the windows explorer opens on C:\drive and it also displays that Skyrim SE holds 14905 MB on C-drive. Guest deleted34304850
if it were me, i'd remove the game from all locations on your system, and redownload it to one place and one place only.if you're trying to unpick that, having it in two locations, then all i can see is a world of pain ahead. Borglord
when you uninstall skyrim LE or SE. it leaves a residual folder after uninstalling. if you uninstalled the C: drive version. the game was uninstalled and the link to the game folder terminated. Then when you changed settings in steam it reinstalled to F: drive. What you see in C: drive is that residual folder and files. When I uninstall my games I check for the residual fold and files and delete them after uninstalling the game to get a full fresh install. places to look are documents/mygame/(the game uninstalled) and of course the C:/programs/steam/steamapp/common/(Uninstalled game) or where ever you set steam to install the game. hope this helps. leckerli
@Borglord Thank you very much for these informations! As 1ae0bfb8 recommended I did uninstall SkyrimSE via steam. Although the default path in the steam settings was set to F:\... drive , the game was removed from C:\...drive. The residual files, left in the places you described, I deleted manually. The same I did with SkyrimSe on F:\, as it was uninstallable via steam.A new installation of SkyrimSE was directed to the F:\ as wanted. Let's hope it will work. Thanks a lot everyone for your help!
