JimmyRJump
Sure, but you don't really need that. The CPU in itself has enough instructions for the OS to take care of most of those things. But, as long as you're happy with what it does and you've noticed a performance gain, then hey, go for it. When I first installed my new gear and the OS, my PC also went from touching the 'ON' button to desktop in around fifteen seconds. Amazing. But, that was without any software installed and just the OS SSD drive (a Samsung EVO 860 500GB). Once I installed my Anti-Virus (BitDefender Internet Security) and connected my other nine hard drives, boot-times went downhill pretty fast. It's still under one minute, but I don't care. I put on the computer when I wake up and walk into the kitchen to make coffee anyway, and by the time I get back behind my desk, hey, the desktop is there... Anselmp
I agree with Jimmy. Better to keep it simple. But I started with text games on the Amstrad 1640. I did not get a Sinclair or Acorn because I wanted a proper Word Processor. Some of the latest graphic enhancements look too glossy to me.
