tamaneko
After installing the new NXE update that lets you play the games on the hard drive, I remembered that there was this accessory released a while ago that lets you copy and replace files to and from your 360 hard drive. http://base.teamxbox.com/blog-post/tag/Sou.../11-01-2006/p1/ Any chance this could be used to apply the same kind of mods on the PC version to the 360 as well, now that the game files can also be accessed and edited? No, not unless something is done in the Xbox side to emulate PC (beginning with a BIOS and going thru Windows). So the simple answer is NO. XBOX isn't Windows based, it is too different and I fear MS haven't the minimal interest at supporting modifications in it, if not actively prosecuting the authors. That hardware from the link provides only a storage and communication between XBOX and PC, nothing about the emulation issue (indeed it would be more useful the other way... PC using the data (and games) from XBOX). Or as a way to burn XBOX content as told there. PS: What is often forgotten is Game consoles aren't general purpose computers, they are dedicated ones. Good to the things they are designed to do, almost nothing else. Now, editing directly the game is a possibility, maybe XBOX users someday go for it, but just using the mods for PC will not do the trick.
WoogieMonster
If I may quote the great Yahtzee: Short answer, No. Long answer, NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Jared2500
Sorry pal, but I don't see modding becoming popular for the 360 unless Microsoft supports it in some way, which they don't. I feel your pain.../reveal 360 symbol carved into chest
asonofashadow
Well hold off on the nay saying. The emu hacking community is a whole different breed of mod making community. There are level editors now from Super Metroid to Golden Eye for the N64. There are mods for Resident evil 1+, FF Tactics, ECT. I can assure given time and interest if possible there will be homebrew F03 mods. Especially but unlikely if there is no upset about doing so. Which I'm sure they would get all butt hurt about, Beth and Gates.
TheRealLordSanta
I would not be so quick to jump to conclusions been playing modded Morrowind on my Xbox1 for at least 1½ yearAND San Andreas AND I'm running Linux AND I "can" install Windows 98 not saying that the 360 has these features as of yet, but the main reason I got a 360, was because I hope that "someday" be able of modding with it as well (take note, that I created a specific race for Morrowind on the PC, which I can use with no problems on my Xbox1, that and a 30-40 other mods) and don't ask me to link it to confirm it... google it

We've all opened our Xbox to see what we could improve, the modded parts in my son's Xbox are worth more than the console itself and my PS2 will copy any game you boot up on it. By those standards, yes we will be modding the Xbox360 and the PS3 one day, but again it won't matter because everyone will have moved on to the PS6 and the Xbox900. As for right now there's just too high of a chance that even something as innocent as changing the hard drive could get the sheriff knocking on your door to hand you sealed certified letter. And even if you don't get that letter, you can still never use that console online again. It's just not worth it.
