Mouseonmods
Hi, i'm new in Modding and Skyrim but I learned much about. I had the actual version from Vortex but couldn't start the tool to look at the number. Installed 350 mods to find out my favorites and learned that it's not a good idea to deinstall some mods and continue playing the game. My Horse was bugged in the Whiterun stables and i couldn't mount on it. I think that's how it started but this was not the problem. I moved my Vortex mod folder to another drive (the same drive from vortex, but not the same folder) because I have not much space on my C drive. When i tried it with the full mod folder an error told me that the folder must be empty. I followed that and it worked. Later I got a warning that the savegame missing the sovereign armor but I thought it's okay. Another day I lost suddenly half of my mods. The game was trying to install the mods like at begin of a new game. But the loading never ended and it looped with trying to install the same mods. I could look in the ingame mcm menu but many mods there was not ready. Then I tried to load a new game with alternate start. The same thing: the game was trying to load all mods but this time it ended. But when i was loading the new savegame again it was going in the endlessloadingmode like the other. Now I saw that sneaky vortex switched back the download folder to my C drive..I overwritten all 350 mods again and ignored that there was a mod enabled with an empty name in the first line. I couldn't remove it.Everytime after overwriting a mod I deleted the old version from the list. Because vortex didn't found the old versions. I chosen overwrite to save the load order for each mod. The game wasn't starting and I restarted Vortex. Then I got the message that I was deleting files manually from the mod folder and if I apply I lose all mods except the one in the added list ( What only one??) Actually I reinstalled Skyrim and Vortex but.. Is there a comfortable way to reinstall the mods? And how I can change safely my Vortex mod folder?Has anyone a guide to find the right load order? HadToRegister
When you moved the mod folder using vortex, did you hit APPLY after you moved it?Also, DO NOT follow a guide for the "Right Load Order", especially if you're using Vortex, because you will, as others have before you, make a completel mess of things trying to follow a "Load Order Guide"Vortex does the load order for you. Mouseonmods
Not sure think I was moving the folder from C to the other drive then applied the new/old empty folder or I made a new folder. I following mostly the load order from the mod creators. But sometimes it's hard because one mod has eyes as option and that overwrite another makeup. Some makeups can be used with other and some not. Then mods are redundant and I need to choose another order. Vortex helps with the suggested options but it's not everytime the right choice. I was using this guide for deinstalling, but now I don't wanna lose all mods again after re-enable everything.https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Backing_up_your_mod_list_and_load_order Wanted to try out this extension but i did not found the extensions button. And now I see it in your screenshot.https://github.com/Garethp/Vortex-Modlist-Backup Do you mean I need to leave the mod folder on C and only apply the new empty folder (not in the vortex folder) in the Vortex menu?
