New Drive - Moved Everything - Not Finding FNIS?

Hey gang,

I just upgraded to a SSDD and new Graphics Card, so moved Vortex and all game files over to the SSDD to take advantage of the faster load times it would offer. To do so, I took advantage of Steams "Move Folder" option. Since then, I have re-targeted the Download folder and game folders to their new destination, but for some reason Vortex says FNIS isn't installed and my Dashboard no longer has Skyrim showing up (with the buttons to click on for CBBE/FNIS/Etc.).

Can anyone offer a suggestion to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

Did you also move the C:\Users\<YOUR NAME>\AppData\Vortex folder from your old C drive to the SSD?

I'll be honest. I did not know I needed to (which is why I'm asking here).

Since that folder also contains quite a bit of other stuff, should I recreate that location on the SSDD and only move the Vortex folder to it? ie. d:\Users\<my name>\AppData\Vortex?

Well, did you copy the entire old HDD to the SSD, or did you install Windows on the new SSD, then move your games etc over to the new SSD?|

If so, then you've wiped the registry, and appdata folder, so copying the entire appdata folder probably won't help

I did not install windows or anything else on the SSDD as of this time, no. Only the Folder Move via Steam and then creating the new folder to receive mods, per Vortex's demand.

I added an SSDD to store Skyrim and any other games on to increase load speed. I ran the Move Folders option in Steam and moved the folders to a folder called "Steam Library" on the new D:\ drive and added a folder called "Mod Download Folder" and directed it to find the mods there, per Vortex's demand.

Nothing else has been moved or installed on the SSDD.

So, did you only have the C drive, and now you added a D drive, and moved your games and Vortex to the D drive?

If so, then you've moved everything and Vortex doesn't know that.

You have to set up your path to FNIS again, in the Dashboard because Vortex is still looking at your old drive for FNIS

It should be something like this (I left out the Drive letter etc, because yours will be different)

TARGET

Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\GenerateFNISForUsers.exe

Start IN

Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\

Click on the 3 vertical lines in the FNIS Dashboard Entry

Just like you changed the path to your games with Vortex, you have to change the paths to the Apps too
