Magotr16
I've recently tried to install FOSE for my new windows 8 pro laptop for Fallout GOTY edition. I used an app called Unpacker to read and extract the 7z file for FOSE. After installing and copying the files into my Fallout 3 folder, I go to run the FOSE loader. But when I go to run it the file reads corrupted/unreadable and I can't get it to work. I looked online for steps to download and I'm following each exactly (I would certainly think) but I still can't get the loader to work. Any help would be gladly accepted! ~Thanks! M48A5
You should probably use 7Zip to unpack the .zip file. The unpacker you are using might not be compatibl with .zip files.
luthienanarion
I'm disappointed that this thread has absolutely nothing to do with FOSE or Windows 8.
Magotr16
How does this have nothing to do with the either?
LaTraque
I have the same problem. The unpacker works just fine. The problem with the launcher for FOSE seems to be the problem I had when I couldn't launch F3 properly. I had to install Games for Windows for it to work. Which might help explain why FOSE doesn't work.
luthienanarion
Ah yes. GFWL is required for Fallout 3, even if you buy a Steam version. You can also have FOMM install a "fake" xlive.dll that lets you bypass the horror of that program.

MaliceofFear
I had the same problem and you seriously need to try 7zip. I used unpacker, or whatever that comes with Windows 8. It corrupts the file, you need to use 7zip. Then just go to the extracted folder and copy/paste the .dll's and loader into your Fallout3 folder, boom should work

kingoflosers
i found out what the "adapter" is "A layer of software that converts the data from the application into a common form acceptable for integration with other applications." im going to look in a little further. please tell me if that is your problem, if it is and i find the fix i can tell you, if not sry.
