alarmedxclock
My xp number font is no longer vanilla when using oHUD with VUI+. I've followed steps on viva new vegas for UI and so am using mod manager 2. Vanilla UI+ overwrites oHUD and I have UIO installed. Any ideas? alarmedxclock
Thanks, I had a look there but can't see a solution as vanilla ui+ already wins conflicts against ohud but that isn't the issue. The ohud file seemingly causing the font change is hud_main_menu.xml but vanilla hud+ doesn't edit that file. Nothing else seems to be a problem but just that one font for xp numbers. Odd since I can't see anyone else with the same issue? Also reinstalled everything in order recommended in the guide
dubiousintent
That article lists the fonts section from the Fallout INI file (under the description for DarnUI). To the best of my knowledge, both Vanilla UI+ and oHUD use those original fonts for their various displays. The "hud_main_menu.xml" file might be altered by some other mod to use a different font for one of the "Font#" entries. Only by examining that file would you be able to tell, but then you would need to figure out which mod is modifying or replacing that file. (Typically this would be by way of another XML file.) When you look at the XML file provided by the default INI and those of the mods in question, you should be able to see the difference. (I would use a tool like "WinMerge" to quickly find the lines in each file that are different.) -Dubious-

alarmedxclock
Had another mess around and it can only be oHUD. With a new MO instance with just oHUD installed (then tried with just oHUD plus YUP and UIO, then those two plus MCM and finally all those plus VUI+) it is oHUD consistently causing the problem. How can I find the vanilla hud_main_menu.xml if such a thing exists? Hoping that can reveal the issue with the comparison method you mention. Thank you for all your help! dubiousintent
The vanilla "hud_main_menu.xml" should be under "DATA\Menus\main" after you first install. Never had any reason to check if "verify local files" restores it. (It does not appear that anything makes a backup of it upon changing it, so I don't have an "original" copy myself.) -Dubious-
alarmedxclock
Fantastic I think I've got my workaround. For anyone who stumbles across this later, I use Bethesda Archive Extractor on Fallout Misc BSA (in the data folder). I extracted out hud_main_menu.xml so I had my vanilla reference. Comparing the two side by side using WinMerge I noticed both the 'XPamount' and 'xplevelup' fonts have been changed. I went back into mod organiser. Double clicked on ohud, went into filetree, menus, main then hud_main_menu.xml and changed both of these fonts to their vanilla state (8 for both of them, oHUD has them as 1 and 6). These are on lines 257 and 282. I haven't noticed any issues with the hud from changing these. Thanks very much Dubious for guiding me through to a solution
dubiousintent
Thank YOU for reporting back with your solution. (I should have mentioned the original XML would be in a BSA. Old age and that's at the end of my day. Yeah, that's my excuse.) Not sure how it happened, but my oHUD version of the file (which admittedly has been modified by DarnUI among others) is still using font 8. So, keep an eye out for any future changes and try to pin down which plugin is doing it. -Dubious-
