I'm new to mods and I have encountered a big problem. whenever I enter the workshop mode I no longer have the ability to place down any type of defence. I dont have too many mods installed just the unofficial patch mod and increased settlement limits. I have tried disabling them both and I still can't place turrets or guard posts. Is there anyway to fix this

Heyas Yorkshire.

It sounds to me like you have a mod running that is in conflict the the vanilla workshop menu. The mod most likely alters the defense bracket of the menu, and is not done correctly. Therefor not letting the workshop bring up, or access that menu correctly.

Normally, I'd recommend a user to just copy and paste their plugins.txt file to a post so that we might be able to look for possible suspects.

NOT judging, I used to play this game on a PS4. But since you're on console, that's not an option, since you can't access that file thru the XB.

I dunno if the Xbox menu system is any different, but on PS4 when I would use the in game mod manager at the start up screen it was selecting Mods, then hitting Y to go to the load order.

From there, I could set active/inactive, view the mods in my LO, and change what position that they were in.

If you've got more than one workshop affecting mod, perhaps they are in conflict. Sometimes putting one below the other can resolve it, but sometimes, one just has to go away.

If load order juggling doesn't work, set one as inactive. Then load a savegame, go thru the warning about a missing mod, and load the game. Then, create a manual savegame, and exit the game. Now load the clean save that you just made, and see if the problem persists.

Rinse and repeat until the problem goes away.

If that doesn't solve it, perhaps you have a bad file. I don't know how to do it on xbox. I dunno if there's a file verification system in place for it or not. I know the PS4 did not have it. It was either deal with it, or reinstall the whole game.

With PC, we can just have Steam verify the installed file, and replace any that are missing or broken. Again tho, I dunno if XB has a function like that or not.
