Timeranger
O.K. when I go to work on a NPC, or to tweek/make a NPC/Companion I get the Following just as the race load into the CK: ASSERT fileC:_skyrim\code\TESV\BSShader\Shaders\BSLightingshaderproperty.cpp line 806 The NPC/companion looks fine in the CK but when i see them in game there head is a tone of light brown but there body is the right skin tone for race. I downloaded the CK from the Stream down load site and it is the most up to date one there. I was wandering if there is a Patch or something that i'm missing. any help would be nice thxs in advance.
amoebae
I'm not sure about that message you're seeing, but in terms of the dark face bug, there's a simple trick that seems to fix it for most people: once you've finished editing your NPC in the CK, in the Object window highlight their name and press ctrl+F4 and confirm. It will export the facegen data into your relevant Skyrim folder. Hopefully that will work for you.
Georgiegril
Hi, I just want to add that I had that message pop up all of a sudden a month or so ago, and I posted about it. Someone told me not to worry, so I didn't, and it didn't seem to result in any actual change in my mods. I am not sure why it pops up, but I think it's appearance in relation to your face coloring bug is coincidental. I have found that if I have the dark face bug thing pop up, I can fix it by the procedure amoebae suggests, and/or by adjusting the sliders for face gen a bit. Also, depending on if you are using any face mods, (like Detailed faces, smooth faces, etc) in some cases there are fixes you can also get on the nexus. MotoSxorpio
truncate the texture path in that errored nif, likely is has a full path, ie "C:\my drive\blah\blah\textures\..." Should start with "textures\..." OR...the path you chose for the edit in CK is in a bsa that isn't accessible from CK (add to archivelist or extract the bsa)
