LE A New Start to Thieves Guild Quest

Hi everyone. This time while replaying Skyrim I haven't done the Thieves Guild quest only because I don't want to have Brand-Shei put in jail. After doing his little quest and finding the journal that his family left for him, well, as silly as it sounds, I now feel like we're "friends" and I don't want to diss him that way. So....I'd love to see a different way begin this part of the game without getting him into trouble. :)

The mod should also include a fix of those rather annoying few lines Brymjolf says while you first talk to him.

I was dead broke, didn't have a single piece of jewelry on me, wore some mage robes and had a shoddy iron sword.

Yet, he still claimed that I didn't get a single piece of gold legally. lol?

I couldn't even afford to buy weapons. I've found that sword on some bandit in a mine next to Riwerwood.

Well... Brand-Shei gets out eventually. I like to think the guild helped him out for "playing along," even if he didn't know that he was a part of the "theft." That whole little quest is really just to test you, anyway. I'd be surprised if the average merchant in Riften didn't have Guild connections at some level...

 

Although I do agree on the dialogue issues, but those are touchy, due to audio and lip-syncing, and not really my thing. And Brynjolf does have a point in his way. You didn't work for that coin like a peasant, you probably killed people to take it, unless you are RPing a strict hunter-gatherer who doesn't kill people. At all.

Actually, you can fail the first quest of the Thieves guild without losing the rest of the chain. You just have to get caught for stealing or lockpicking anything during Brynjolf's little advertisement. Or possibly just let him run out of material.
