the problem here with the SS stuff is, that me, and my fellow germans also, associate that bunch with pure evil, nothing less. in ww2 they were the most willing baddies from us, they were the elite, and they got the best equipment.

 

the reason you americans chose them mostly as some "cool evil high-tech" guys i dont know.... but rest assured that not many of germans here and now think of the SS as "cool"... which is the only reason why you chose them for the 4th reich mod, right?

 

its always warmed up in those stupid anime-films.... long leatherjackets, hightech, ideas to rule the world, and the skull in the cap... and some weird professor who delivers the tech.

im just putting my voice forward to say that nazi uniform and weaponry mods are brilliant.

probably my favourite mod is the Wehrmacht retexture of the chinese armor (works better as a new item not replacing). it dose not break the atomsphere i think , there is a massive amount of these items in america , they love nazi memorabilia there.

 

its not like im adoring the nazis , its more humorous. not everyone holds the same views about the nazis in the world. i doubt very much that anyone using this mod seriously wants to reinstate national socialism here or in the wastelands.

Lucy San, we appreciate your view on the topic of the SS, and incidentally, our team so far is not American, we're actually in Holland. Next door so to speak.

 

As a team we do not feel that the SS were cool - we like the uniforms, they kick ass.

 

In the real world, as cosinusoid said, we do not hold the view that national socialism should be brought back, far from it - Holland suffered under the NAZIs too.

 

As for Anime, I can't wait till someone Mods in some Full Metal Alchemist "State Alchemists" and/or Alphonse "armour"!!! (Perhaps the German release of our Mod could be the State Alchemists.)

 

*A QUICK MOD UPDATE

- There is now a high-detail SS-style version of Colonel Autumn's Uniform. On the site you can see a low-detail version of the coat in the image.

- Enclave Officer Uniform has been SS-stylized.

- Lincoln's Repeater has been retextured, and will be added as a Unique Weapon as soon as the G.E.C.K is released.

Sounds like a cool mod, would be interesting to see other factions in the game. and stop defending yourself, there not worth it.

 

Why some people have to moan so much about a free mod proposal to introduce a huge amount of content is beyond me.

ive started doing re-textures of somethings ( got a few on here ), would be interested in helping out were i can, though i cant give %100 devotion ( bit busy in RL atm, but could prob do a few weps /items here and there for ya ) . let me know, take care.

and the 3rd Reich didn't need to disband or surrender, it got it's ass kicked

so why then do we still have more occupational force military bases than the iraq? why do we not yet have a constitution even tho the grundgesetz demands one? do they fear the empire will strike back? why is germany still being treated as an enemy nation in the un charta (article #42 i think) and can be attacked at any given time if we participate in a war of aggression which is exactly what we do in afghanistan, somalia, kongo and who knows where? why didnt the victors disband the reich like they did with every other nation they smashed? easily answered cause they profitted well from it and still do...

Or it could be that every time somebody suggests pulling American troops out of Germany, the Germans complain. After all, American Army bases put huge amounts of money into the local economy and that is a good thing no matter how you look at. Also, lots of American boys get German wives (and the opposite is also true) so there's a big cultural exchange going on all the time. Good for the world community, and good for relations with Germany.

 

Still, heck, neo-Nazis are like cockroaches and they'll never die out as long as they're stupidity. Hells yes, bring them on. I feel bad about shooting the Enclave as I understand where they're coming from. They just can't quite seem to adapt to reality as fast as they should and are only shooting at me out of a sincere misunderstanding. I'm empathic like that. I'll give them as much plasma as they're willing to give me. Sometimes more as I'm also the giving type. :wacko:

Let's keep debates out of this thread and focus on the mod itself. Which the creators are entitled to make. If you do not have any kind of input regarding the creation of this mod, do not post. This is a general warning and the only one I am going to issue.

Okay by me, would not make me stop shooting them.

 

But using actual nazi-symbols ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Nazi_symbol and http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Nazi_symbol ) instead of resemblances makes me not using it if its done, sorry. (One could even argument that using this mod could be seen as illegal in germany) [no, i am not trying to imply you do something illegal]

I personally think that calling them Fourth Reich, NAZI (not as general description but as the distinct ones that ruled germany one time) and using things as the swastica, is a bad idea.

 

(to point out: the input from me to this mod would be the request to change some graphic parts. What parts exactly and the reasons for my request/wish i explained above ;) )
