Mockley123 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I'm in Afghanistan and the internet is incredibly slow. I want to start downloading mods for Fallout New Vegas Ultimate before it gets here to have them ready. Do I have to have the game installed before I can download them? Nexus isn't letting me download them because there is no installed game directory. Is there a way to get around this. Thanks, Nexus. Oh, and this website has renewed my hope in gaming and has kept me sane here.
Community Manager Dark0ne Posted December 20, 2012 Community Manager Posted December 20, 2012 If you are using NMM then yes, you need the game installed. If you don't have the game installed use the manual download method then add the downloaded files to NMM at a later date, once you have the game installed. Good luck in Afghan.
Mockley123 Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 Can I just put the mods on my desktop? How do I add them to NMM later? And thanks, hopefully I won't need any.

You can put them on your desktop, but they would be safer -- Desktop is never a safe storage area because if Windows crashes or bugs out, you've potentially lost everything on your desktop -- in a folder, such as C:\Downloads\ . Once downloaded, you can add them to NMM by the button in the 'Mods' tab 'Add Mod From File'.
Mockley123 Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 Thanks a ton. Much appreciated. One more thing. How do I donate to this site? I can't tell you how much these mods have improved my gaming experience

Or in one of the Nexus game sites, at the bottom see the 'Go Premium' button.
