Skyrim SE won't work after Vortex update

I was playing Skyrim two days ago. Everything was stable, and working fine.

I quit the game. When I started to play again, Vortex said there was an update, which I allowed.

As soon as the update completed, I tried to play, but I get CTD as soon as the Skyrim logo shows on the black screen.

Vortex has a notification that one of my SKSE mods is bad (engine fixes) - that I need to update it or dump it. Since it is the latest version, I try uninstalling it, and then Vortex says that a different SKSE mod is bad (consoleutilsse), that I need to update it or dump it.

Why do I have to chase down and troubleshoot issues that you create, Nexus/Vortex?? If I want to keep playing, I guess I have to uninstall the game and Vortex, then reinstall and port all the addons I spent many hours getting to work properly.

You can bet your sweet ass I won't ever let Vortex update again.

Set Vortex to only update on STABLE releases, or set it to NO AUTOMATIC UPDATES
