Motoi Sakuraba is always so epic. I really love the Golden Sun soundtrack, it's EPIC prog-rock coming out of that tiny little GBA. It's incredible the man was able to do so considering the limited sounds the GBA can produce.

I think most of my favorites come from Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy VI.

 

All of the FF series has fantastic music though. But VI and VII take the cake.

 

Chrono Trigger, Halo, and Secret of Mana get honorable mentions too.

freelancer. i used to love everything about this game. mass effect noveria. mass effect 2 afterlife. and about any other game with good classical music in it. as there are. morrorwind. oblivion.

 

oh and x3 also has some cool music. namely königstal.

I second Golden Sun. That is one of the greatest games ever, and it had a soundtrack to match.
