Hi

Can you explain why there are 3 Vortex.exe processes in WTM?

Using just short of 400MB of ram across the three.

Thanks

Buz

My bad there are actually 4 instances of Vortex.exe in wtm.

I am only selecting it once but it runs 4 why?

How much hardware does it need?

I've got three going too.

You should see how many SteamWebHelper.exes I've got going.

I have seen that too.

Stopped using Steam now.

Strangely when I deploy mods (back to Vortex) I have to elevate each time and after doing this multiple times my WTM shows them stacked at the bottom of the processes too. Elevate.exe stacked

I would just like a reasonable reason in understandable language.

I have a feeling the second I say I run Win7 that will be the reason.

Bit like any illness is blamed on a history of smoking. :D

Also.. C:\_\AppData\Roaming\Vortex folder and files WILL NOT delete. Why?

Also... C:\Users\_\AppData\Roaming\~Vortex HIDDEN FOLDER over 4GB WILL NOT delete. Why?

Should these and ALL prog files be removed on uninstall?

If not why not?

I have had to manually remove the read only from them

not a lot of programs will clean up appdata after they're uninstalled.

you can use something like revo uninstaller, i guess, to try and remove more than a default uninstall and see how you go. there's other things, like bleachbit that can delete a s#*!-ton of obsolete stuff from your system as well that can be used.

I found a way round without adding more apps.

I removed the folders and files I could by un-ticking read only in properties and those that refused

(2 hot n wet files) were removed by Vortex (bless it) on re-install.

FYI

The whole reason for this reinstall was due to my own inept and stupid use of mods with TS4.

Rendering the game unplayable and Vortex had no way to help.

(willy nilly adding mod on mod on mod and expecting Vortex to catch any and all problems)

As soon as I removed ALL mods and did a CLEAN install of the up to date Vortex I was able to

add the up to date mods I wanted.

Game Works Fine.

Moral of this story is;

Listen to those whom know better and do not just blindly press on.
