Vortex Takes ages

Since the last update any mod install takes ages , even a single texture file Mod takes ages to install..

Download with Vortex a Body File with Vortex and am waiting for it to install the mod yet a 17 Mb file ..

Its to slow .. Its annoying as hell to wait 20 minutes to install a texture file of a wall ...Or a new texture for a Farm House door ..

What is wrong with this ..??

How much room do you have on your hard drive?

Its not a drive problem .. for sure ..large Drive and have 2 one for the system and one for all the rest I have free on the second drive 300 GB so its not the drive ..

Another thing is that I have installed some mods today Texture mods , and now to install a body update just doesn't install it ,.. tried around 10 times with the new version and older ones and still doesn't install none ..

Not sure which game you're modding, as you never mentioned it

Are you using 1.2.9?

I'm still on the 1.15 Stable release (I have vortex only download Stable releases), did the newest version give you any message about not being able to roll back?

Because maybe rolling back to 1.15 would help?

Where seems to be a problem in v1.2.x there it looks like mods can be peremanently stuck on "Installing", but re-starting Vortex has a chance of fixing things.

Supposedly the problem should have been fixed by v1.2.9, but if it hasn't, create a bug-report.

Yes I was thinking the problem was solved but not .. It started doing it again.. Downloaded a Clevershaft Texture Mod and can not install it the same way... Takes ages and doesn't install .. abort Mod install and close and reopen Vortex for now doesn't fix things keeps installing or trying to install the Mod texture forever and doesn't finish !...

For the first time since I use this Mod manager I am thinking in finally learning to use Mod Organiser since it looks much more stable and I can not afford ruining my game with a manager ..

  • 7 months later...

I have version 1.2.20 of Vortex and its a nightmare at the moment also. I'm modding SkyrimSE which has for the most part gone well but on occasion, I find a plugin not active and mods that were installed showing as never installed. Installation and deploying can also take an age. Not a rant at the devs, just some observations.
