Vortex Keeps Disabling Plugins and Refusing to Use Download and Staging Folders

Vortex is broken for me.

For the second time this week, I've booted up my PC and started Vortex. For reasons unknown I'm no longer signed in to my profile, so I click the login at the top right and authorise my Nexus account with Vortex. Not sure why I have to do this again but there we go. I log in successfully annnnnnnnnd all my plugins are disabled! The mod list is blank and when trying to tell Vortex that the download folder is here and the staging folder is there, Vortex tells me that these folders have to be empty  Short of removing and re-installing everything (because Vortex needs these folders to be empty), I've no idea what to do. I'm concerned about using Vortex again given that this has happened twice now for seemingly no reason. I'm looking at using MO2 instead but would still like to know why Vortex has decided to do this. Its not that its irritating or time consuming (which it is), its that there is zero reason for Vortex to do this. Its a nightmare for large mod-lists, especially ones where you have conflicts and custom rule,s load orders etc.

On a side note, since the recent Vortex update, whenever I have to confirm a rule, I have to choose A > B and B < A whereas before it would automatically choose B < A when I chose A > B. Not sure if this was intentional but it seems like a redundant idea to me.

People need to stop uninstalling and reinstalling everything for simple problems.

Just move everything out of those folders to two temporary folders, set the folders up in Vortex, then move the stuff back into those folders.
Much quicker than uninstalling and reinstalling something completely unrelated to the problem.

Also, go to SETTINGS----->THEME, and pick COMPACT.

It's also easier to use the Rule Manager on the Mod tab, rather than trying to drag from one mod to another.
You also don't need a bunch of custom rules in the plugins tab, and they should only be used when necessary, those too can also be managed with the Rule Manager on a screen where you pick the mods in a drop down, (or start typing the name in, the search is contextual) that you want to load AFTER the mod you pick in the right-side dropdown.

If you have them reversed just use the Arrow Button, to swap them

It didn't seem simple at the time. When you're using a new mod manager and that happens, its far from simple, at least to me. NMM never disabled all my mods while I was offline so seeing that happen here with no idea how it happened or why... Apologies that I'm not a tech wiz.

Regarding moving everything out and back again, that would save re-downloading everything but I would still need to set rules, decide on conflicts etc, right?

Already using Settings>Theme>Compact, but thanks for the tip. I also use the Rules Manager on the mod tab. Its only since the update that I have to set the same rule for both mods.

Thanks for the advice, but I'd still be interested to know why this happened twice. I've just finished setting up my final mod-list on Vortex and am genuinely worried it could happen again.
