justinrpg
Three people were viewing my topic at once and not a single person told me how to fix the issue with the missing NPC. Now seven people have viewed my topic and NOBODY said anything. Why am I being refused help? Why look at my topic if you have no intentions on helping me? The topic title clearly states what the problem is so it is not like they clicked on it finding out that it was something that they could not help in, they KNEW what the problem was based on the topic title. HadToRegister
You asked for help at 4:11 today, in your other thread, you then complained 22 minutes later that nobody helped you yet at 4:33.Then you started THIS thread NINE MINUTES after your last post, to complain about nobody helping you in your other thread.Sometimes things take time, on forums, the person that might be able to help you could be on another part of the planet where they're sleeping right now.Answers to questions on a forum, aren't instantaneous, they take time and patience. HadToRegister
Well, even after a considerable amount of time, I am STILL ain't getting jack for help and I CANNOT continue in my game until I get this resolved Well, that's how forums work sometimes, some times you get an answer right away, and other times you have to wait.Complaining about it, and starting new threads to complain about how you haven't received an immediate answer isn't exactly helping you right now. DrakeTheDragon
Well, this isn't exactly a very active section anymore, sad to say. The people still actually responding to help requests in here I can count with at most 2 hands I'm afraid, and those aren't always around every hour of every day. One or more of them definitely will respond at their earliest convenience, as also has happened by now. Then, you will of course get lots of views without a response, no matter what you wrote in your title already. The absolute key to being able to help you with your problems is knowledge about your background and the context in which the issue occurs. As you already found out yourself, due to the lack of search results in Google to your issues, it's not exactly a common thing, so the first thing to find out is what makes "your" case different to everybody else's. For example, when I saw your topic title about Benirus disappearing, I may have known what your issue is, but I was still clueless about "why" you're encountering this while I haven't yet even heard of anybody else ever having experienced the same before. So I went into your topic to read your opening post, in hope to find some more information for your described issue to start making sense... alas, I didn't. You're not exactly giving away much in any of your posts. Now don't get me wrong. There's those of us, myself included, who usually go out of their way asking through, digging their way down, step by step, until the reason becomes apparent. But keep in mind there's not exactly many of us, and we don't always have the time to do that right away. It's not surprising people come into your topics, thinking that, perhaps, they would find something they realize as the cause from reading your opening post, but then step away again once they found out they learned nothing new and still have no clue... and they're not the type going to ask their way through. Back to the case at hand, you haven't even given the most important part of information everyone going to help is going to ask for first, your list of mods and/or your load order. Without this we won't have even a slight of a chance to find what's the culprit in your game and only your's. However, in case of your missing Benirus you seeing a green quest marker when outside and a red one when inside the inn means that Benirus himself at least also is already outside. My first bet would be him somehow having become stuck inside the geometry on zoning out the door, either due to a conflict/oddity with some mod altering the interior of Anvil more or less significantly, or simply due to a high load of game and a serious drop of performance at the point of his zoning out. While these things "can" happen in a regular Vanilla game simple due to lag, script lag or it simply acting up occasionally sometimes, it's still far away from likely or a regular thing. So mods being the fault is the more likely explanation. And then, the first response you got, giving you means to find him, respawn or move him to you, was also already going that way. Well, I hope this explains things some and helps you finding help better in future.
HadToRegister
Also, please take into consideration that other people are in here looking for help as well, and when you post SIX threads in a row, asking for help, for every obstacle you run into in the game, you are pushing other people's threads (who are also looking for help) farther and farther down the page, so their problems won't get addressed. chunkfhunk
My first time on Nexus Forums, and took me five seconds to figure out that.. EVEN IF YOU "THE OP" REFRESHES THE TOPIC WEB PAGE, IT COUNTS AS A VIEW. So those "seven people" you were talking about, might in fact have been drumroll YOU YOURSELF. :wallbash: Edited May 2, 2020 by chunkfhunk
chambcra
There's a number of good people here who will always help if they can. If you get no help it's because no one has the answer, not because everyone is avoiding you. No matter how careful I am I still get the "STOP THIEF" routine once in a while. If you're sure you did nothing wrong then I recommend using the console to set it straight and move on. I tried for a long time and eventually found that trying to be a purist through out this whole game can drive you crazy. Chalk it up as a bug and keep your sticky fingers to yourself next time. Console command I've used many times. Player.SetCrimeGold 0This will remove your bounty by setting it to 0, but any pursuing guards will still have to find you before they'll stop following you. Don't worry, though, as soon as they get to you they'll just engage you in a normal conversation. If you've already been caught and decided to resist arrest it gets more complicated. Even if you type this command in then yield (holding block and pressing activate on them) they may try to arrest you again, due to the 40-gold bounty for resisting. Keep putting this command in then yielding and they'll eventually stop. If you try this command once the guard has talked to you the game will crash. chambcra
If you really want to try and figure out how this is happening you could keep checking your stats all the way through this problem area. It's F1 and the tab all the way to the right. You see your bounty, infamy and much more.
chunkfhunk
Well, even after a considerable amount of time, I am STILL ain't getting jack for help and I CANNOT continue in my game until I get this resolvedAnd i hope you do get jack, with that rude attitude of yours...they don't owe you anything, they're taking time out of THEIR day or schedule to help YOU out. And i don't think it's particularly a smart idea being rude when you're not the one calling the shots...either they feel like helping you or not, that's their choice..they don't need anything from you you're the one in need, remember?
