Why you should join the Stormcloaks.

We are the Stormcloaks. Some call us an unorganized alliance, however, we would die for our homes. Not only did the Imperial scums attempt to execute the dragonborn without trial, but they agreed to ban the worship of Talos to stop the war with elves. I am a true daughter of skyrim because It is my home. Plus, Ulfric is hot. Am I right? Imagine not being able to freely worship a god because of the imperials. Yes, Ulfric killed the high king of skyrim, but does that make him a bad person? Well, sounds like it, but he's a pretty cool dude. The imperials are rude when you talk to them, dragonborn or not. Would you want to be treated with disrespect after saving everyone? Sure, Stormcloaks are racist, but in skyrim they have a point. Elves on skyrim are usually nothing but trouble. Thalmor are a big example of that. (Which doesn't mean they all are, but still.) Also, I can hardly imagine an argonian or elf being dragonborn. Just my opinion, but enough talking about race. The imperials are nothing more than a bunch of no-good strict trouble makers. & rebels are awesome. So rethink becoming an imperial!

Heheh...

Sure, let's bear arms against a faction much more powerful than both Imperials and Stormcloaks. When you die by a Thalmor blade and get to Sovngarde you'll have all the time in the world to pray for Talos.

See this as a tactical alliance, instead of submission. Better pray hidden than pray dead.

But hey, your point is fair. Since according to your words, which I beg to differ, General Tullius is rude and Ulfric (the usurper) is hot.

Long live the empire :)

Now i am a Libyan thus i agree with the stormcloaks, Rebels fighting versus a greater oppression that takes their freedom and their faith, that kind of reminds me of the Libyan Rebels Fighting our ex-leader Moammer Alkadafi who took our freedom and our faiths, thus my full support goes to the Absolutely AWESOME stormcloaks.

Jokes and role-playing aside I definitely agree with you, TyrantOf1969.

People should be able to chose who govern them, so I definitely agree with dictators being put down, specially sick people like Gaddafi.

My skyrim character wouldn't agree with you, but I agree.

I used to agree with the Stormcloak perspective. Then I did a play-through where I joined them in the war, and I noticed just how bigoted and self-righteous the whole lot of them were. Especially Ulfric. He wasn't fighting for what he believed in, he was using what other people believed in to fuel his own lust for power. Neither he nor his followers seemed to understand that if Skyrim "broke free" from the Empire then she would be free of ALL aspects of the White-Gold Concordant - notably the part that protected her from attack by the Aldmeri Dominion. I don't know about anyone else, but I'd rather live under an Empire that caters to the best interest of its people than one that would sooner wipe me off the map simply because I'm not an Elf.

Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussain, Muammar al-Gaddafi, Bashar al-Assad, George W Bush, Ulfric Stormcloak etc. etc. are all in the same league. They seek to change the world (without knowing what is wrong with it), create hatred where there was none, bring strife where was peace and just about mess everything up and leave others to clean it up.

Support the Stormcloaks? Do all the Nords follow Ulfric's banner? No and quite a fair number serve in the Imperial Legions. Yes the Thalmor need to be dealt with but Nords can't do it by themselves. Why the heck are they so fanatic about Talos? As if 8 Gods weren't enough!!!!! :wallbash:

So the Imperials aren't the most polite guy but hey neither was Winston Churchill.

Join the Imperial Legion or stay neutral.

We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in Skyrim, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall defend the Empire, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender

I don't see how that sets you apart you from any farmer in Skyrim, nor any of the free peoples in the other prvinces of Tamriel. This is not a reason to join the Stormcloaks.

Not only did the Imperial scums attempt to execute the dragonborn without trial, but they agreed to ban the worship of Talos to stop the war with elves.

They only do so because being caught with the Stormcloaks, and Ulfric Stormcloak himself, no less, and branded a rebel and a traitor is reason enough to execute a captured prisoner; if you have captured Ulfric Stormcloak it is likely you have captured several other high ranking Stormcloaks and men close to Ulfric, and all should be put to death. They are rebels, traitors, criminals, bigots and worse, and Ulfric Stormcloak is a murderer, using the Thu'um to tear the rightful High King to bloody shreds in a craven attempt to seize the throne. Worse, Ulfric Stormcloak is as much a tool of the Thalmor as he claims the Empire to be; he was released by them to weaken the Empire by instigating a rebellion.

If the Empire had not signed an armistice with the Thalmor, the Aldmeri Dominion would have rolled over the Empire and the provinces - including Skyrim - and everybody would be crushed beneath the oppression of the Elven jackboot.

I am a true daughter of skyrim because It is my home. Plus, Ulfric is hot. Am I right?

Surely if you're a true daughter of Skyrim by right of birth, you don't need to prove it by joining the Stormcloaks? Sounds like caving in to popular pressure, and true Nords supposedly never back down.

Ulfric Stormcloak is a savage brute, and a tool of the Thalmor instrumental in weakening both Skyrim and the Empire.

Imagine not being able to freely worship a god because of the imperials.

Actually, it's the Thalmor that deny men the right to worship Talos. You don't see Imperial inquisitors searching for Talos worshippers to incarcerate and torture? Before you claim that, even so, the Empire allowed this to happen by signing the White-Gold Concordat, you think that if they had not done so the Thalmor wouldn't still have crushed them and imposed the same doctrines?

Yes, Ulfric killed the high king of skyrim, but does that make him a bad person? Well, sounds like it, but he's a pretty cool dude.

I'm pretty sure murdering anyone in cold blood, let alone the man you swore an oath to protect and serve as your king, makes you a bad person. So does persecuting other races.

The imperials are rude when you talk to them, dragonborn or not. Would you want to be treated with disrespect after saving everyone?

"Those people were rude to me, better go burn down their homesteads and murder their loved ones, that seems like a fair and rational reaction to a slight received in conversation which I may or may not have inferred."

Seriously? Imperials and Stormcloaks soldiers alike are relatively curt in conversation, but at least the Imperials don't use derogatory comments or racial slurs in their dealings with you. I was saving Skyrim while Ulfric Stormcloak was busy whining about how I had betrayed the land I wasn't even a native of.

Sure, Stormcloaks are racist, but in skyrim they have a point. Elves on skyrim are usually nothing but trouble.

Thalmor =/= all elves inhabiting Skyrim.

The Elves in the Grey Quarter are quite friendly, I do good business with them, elves hep you out during the Thalmor embassy inflitration, and a Snow Elf helps you save the world from an endless night filled with vampires.

The Thalmor may be tyrannical oppressors, but the Stormcloaks are cruel to all races, not just the elves. I don't see how this justifies their cause or their unfounded xenophobia.

Also, I can hardly imagine an argonian or elf being dragonborn. Just my opinion, but enough talking about race.

So because your narrow-mindedness can't encompass the concept, it must be impossible. Good logic.

You started the racial diatribe.

The imperials are nothing more than a bunch of no-good strict trouble makers. & rebels are awesome. So rethink becoming an imperial!

"Join our side because their side is bad and ours is good."

Again, you have not quantified that statement at all.

I will join neither side and remain impartial, with slightly pro-Imperial leanings.

2/10 would get trolled again.

Here's why you shouldnt join the stormcloaks, You randomly get a bug that stops Ulfric finishing his quest and then you are unable to start the battle of whiterun. This bug has been around for ages and not been fixed so thats the reason to support the imperials, just so you can continue playing.

Haven't seen this bug in the entire time I've played as Stormcloaks, which is every time save the 1st when I saw how lame the Imperials were. Raze Whiterun every time.

Heimskr is one of my inspirations. "Rise up Stormcloaks", and we do and in the process raze his house to the ground. Guy just keeps preaching the word of Talos even though his home is destroyed, his garb is gone (he's out there in rags after the raid) - doesn't faze him one bit. That I can follow, not some milk-drinking Jarl who can't make up his mind (Balgruuf).
